Just as the title says what most recent film were you emotionally touched by, blown away by and/or astounded by?

Last night I finally got my chance to watch the much praised Let The Right One In and I personally thought it was an absolutely brilliant film. The relationship between Eli and Oskar is touching and the story, acting and music are all top notch. Definatly a great film and I'm going to buy the book soon after hearing about the more crazy twists online...

So what about you guys/gals?

Shutter Island.

Wasn't into it for the first 15 minutes, something seemed off, but holy shit did it get good.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is one of the only films I've enjoyed hugely over the last few years.

Saw Zombieland the other day and that was fun. The last film I was truely shocked by how much I enjoyed it was Drag Me To Hell, so great to see Sam Raimi going back to what he is the master at.

Avatar absoultley sunk my battleship when i first saw it. Stunningly beautiful and a creative inspiration to me (after i saw it i decided that i want to spend my life creating and bringing to life universes just as beautiful and detailed). Even if the story was a little unorignial, the way in which it was handled was fantastic. A beautiful and heartfelt piece who's message, which i have translated as best I can to "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, we shall be at peace", is an important one for us as a species to learn.

Hard to say, I literally have to really take a breather and sit down to watch a good movie these days. I did go see Scott Pilgrim, and I liked it... but it's spiritual predecessor of the year before, 'Kickass' really pushed the bar on my expectations of 'spoof-hero movies', never taking itself too seriously but pushing so much intrigue into all the main characters, and those two beautiful scenes the two warehouses. I kinda didn't breathe through either of them.
I love the soundtrack too.

Memento... Seriously, that movie struck me so hard, I needed a minute or two after it, to get straight which way time moved.

The three best movies of the summer; Inception, Scott Pilgrim v.s the World and Toy Story 3. Those were the last films to blow me away. Besides that I also watched District 9 for the first time last week which was also awesome. Sorry I mentioned so many there...

Inception was the most recent. Before that it was District 9.

I haven't seen any movies since last summer though.
