Resistance: Fall of Man. The story is just terrible. It looks like dude copied and pasted parts from several alien games and made this.

The actual plot is more or less a challenge to "be the very best... like no-one ever was." Along the path of completing the trials and getting the proper paperwork to get the title match, as it were, you more or less end up fighting the Mafia and/or evil cults from destroying the world. Whether or not the player then proceeds to enslave the same gods the evil cults were trying to manipulate is totally up to the player.

The last/current gen Ninja Gaiden games easily have THE most retarded plots I've ever come across--which is totally fine. I don't really need a logical reason to slice through thousands of demon-ninjas and dragons and shit.

A blue hedgehog is trying to rescue a human princess from a villain with the word "Egg" in his name during some kind of ceremony of fire when he is attacked by a gay white guy from the future that has the power to fling boxes who has been malipulated by a guy that kind of looks an emo hedgehog who was in the past in with the gay guy to seal one half of a fire god that the princess's father was experimenting on in a cross thingy who would reconigze his form and use in later while the other half was to be put into a little girl who would release the beast if she after cried (did I mention her father was murdered?) after (or before) being roped into this whole mess by the egg guy while the guy that looks like the emo hedgehog gets out after the emo hedgehog breaks the cross kills the blue hedgehog infront of the girl, who cries because she loved the blue hedgehog (Ewww...) which screws up the world so everybody has to find 7 jewels so they can bring the hedgehog with a combination of the jewels and the magic of love from the princess (she is kissing an animal AND a corpse? Uhhh... dear god...) who with the helps of the emo and gay hedgehog defeats the giant monster at three time periods (I think... it was not made very clear) which allows the princess and the blue hedgehog to go back in time to blow out a candle that erases history so everything that just happened didn't happen.
