This feels like one of those standardized tests. But one of the new ones, done by folks right out of university. There was so much cross-referencable obsolescence it triggered my paranoia.

Things I dislike about these test is if you understand the meaning behind the test and understand it's coming it can really sway your results by looking at this test it could be 5 points. It doesn't even matter that the test is based on anonymity, majority of us have pre conceived notions about what we are and often times we don't consider ourselves closer to a narcissist. I mean anybody that understand the definition of narcissism should be able to score basically the lowest and highest score on the test.

Wow, apparently I have a tiny ego but I'm one manipulative, slightly authorative ************. While I figured I'd be below average for my total, I didn't not expect the specifics. That said, this was a horrible test that used poor examples of binary opinion. Two answers is fine - sometime even preferable - way to conduct testing, but the responses here were hilariously bad.

I scored a 6, which seemed rather low. These questions are a bit too black and white, I think. There's probably more nuance to narcissism than that. And looking the results over, people either scored extremely low, or extremely high, and that can't be properly done. I like the basic idea of the test, but I think it's rather poorly executed. Not that I could do any better, mind you.

Woah, the Escapist record so far! Not a particularly good test though since it can't differentiate between someone who erroneously believes they are better than others and someone who actually is better, and it would be dead easy to get a low score by deliberately answering the "modest" answers. Quite seriously I don't believe I have the disorder despite scoring high enough since I get along well with most people, certainly not bad enough it's a disorder >.>

Well, that's kind ofthe point. It doesn't really matter whether you're superior or not, it's how superior you THINK you are. You can have an overblown opinion of yourself and still deserve most of it. And arguably, a narcissist could get along fine with lots of people, as long as none of those people challenge their sense of self-worth.

Not to say that I think you're a narcissist either; I don't know you and I'm not a psychologist. I figure how you react to someone challenging you is a better indicator of narcissism than an Internet questionnaire.
