Since I am a computer science major, everyone thinks that means I know how to fix every electronics problem they have. This is especially bad with phones, which I am particularly bad with. I usually end up cursing at the bad interface design, looking through their help program with about a 50% chance of finding the problem and fixing it.

I really hate the look of betrayal that says "but I thought you were smart".

i had to fiddle with my house's heating system to get the boiler pressure up so the heating would come on, there where three taps and i tried all possible combinations of on and off and nothing worked so i rang a plumber, turned out i hadn't turned one of the taps far enough....

The other day I actually forgot how to work my oven. I was stood there for like 10 minutes staring at the thing in utter confusion before my roommate showed up and just did it for me.

I felt so fucking stupid...
I can't cook to save my life. In my high school French class, the only assignment I ever failed to do concerned cooking. I sought out the simplest recipes I could find, and despite this, could not get past staring blankly at the foreign verbs. (The recipes were written in English.)
I never used to be able to cook either. I learnt/got taught over the past year. So now I can cook, but this one time the cooker just baffled me. It was so embarassing.
I am a cooking noob as well, I just hide that by not using recipes and experimenting. That way if it sucks I can just say my hypothesis was wrong.
On that note my lunch was awesome today, because I put a can of beans, sliced chicken, frozen veggies and some jalapenos in a pan and cooked it up, seasoning with tex-mex. It was glorious, a little more mild than I wanted but still good.

when I tried to turn on my Gamecube a day ago, spent about 10 minutes trying to turn it on and failed to realize I had set the TV to DVD instead of Video 2...

Every time I play a FPS game. I play them so seldom and I really really suck at aiming so my stats were last time after 20 min on Free For All something like 7 - 34
Oh, yeah. This too. I need something with a big cover area, like a shotgun, to be able to hit things. For me Fallout 3 has been FPS with training wheels...huge fucking training wheels.

Anytime I play black ops, I mean I'm not terrible at it sometimes I can REALLY kick ass but a kdr of like 1:25 is unacceptable even for a me.

As a result I play more single player/co-op modes because they cater to my noobishness dammit. :p

I was once so deep in thought I stepped with the same foot twice, resulting in my face becoming good friends with a wall.

Me and a friend were bored last night so we went on our Runescape accounts that we hadn't been on since we were ten. Needless to say we felt like absolute noobs.

Every time i play Battlefield 2, dammit.
Nothing else really pops up at the moment, though I'm sure there are quite a lot of such moments.

Any time my computer throws a fit and doesn't work right. I'm not very tech savvy, so...my only method of solving a problem is googling it and hoping it works T_T

It was probably when I first join The Escapist months ago. I didn't understand those command field properly (like to embed image, video etc). I had to look up online on how to understand which youtube code you copy and paste to be embedding the video onto here.

Every time I realise I've been misspelling something. I'm dyslexic, you see, so, especially when it comes to things like people's names or bands or titles of things, I really do screw them up a lot. Even when I've read the correct spelling online, my dyslexia means I will frequently misread it as something else. So, yes, I will screw up how things are spelled, and it's really embarrassing when I screw up the name of something or someone I'm a huge fan of.

This.
Just because i design websites I have been sandbagged with the responsibility of being the family computer guy. NO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT [insert obscure error code here] MEANS. I will probably solve all of your computer problems that you come to me with by googling it.

And then they look at you like you should know it already.
