I'm glad PS4 backwards compatibility is a thing, and I've longed accepted that the PS3 is a part of gaming history that I'm going to miss out on until I shell out for a used one, but I really would appreciate PS2 and PS1 backwards compatibility. Sony SAID that they were going to patch it into the PS4 and never did.
Also, I'm a tad bit worried about the cost, considering that they're planning on putting in some really shiny tech into this one.
Source, please?

Pretty cool. Those ultra short loading times sound like heaven to me. Backwards compatible with PS4 also sounds really good. Hopefully this also counts for PSN games. No longer need to keep old console around and PS5 will already have a huge catalogue. Can't wait to see more and hopefully an official reveal with some teasers soon.
There isn't really a distinction between "disc games" and "PSN games" anymore, is there? For as far as I know, all disc games are available digitally through the PS Store since the PS4 launched, "games that haven't seen a disc release" would be a weird distinction to make nowadays.

Chances are details will change yet before launch as it?s kinda brash to reveal official specs this early on. Still cool to hear it?s going to be focusing on beefier specs this time around. I?ve resorted to being a late adopter though so I?ll be pleasantly watching things unfold from the sidelines, watching the library build and the prices drop.
No matter how beefy the specs of a console, certain people will start whining about "better" hardware 3-4 years into the console's life cycle in any case, so as a late adopter you'll always be hearing the "ermagerdz, consoles so weak!!!! My 2 month old graphics card is better than 4 years old hardware!" complaints.

That is not fantastic backwards compatibility. Only one generation back is pissweak.
The PS3 is hard as hell to emulate, I don't even think a majority of PS3 games are playable on a PC via emulators. That's why the PS4 was never going to be backwards compatible with PS3 unless it used the same architecture. The PS4 and Xbone being x86 this gen makes it super likely that both next-gen consoles will be backwards compatible. If the PS5 could read DVDs, I don't see why PS2 emulation couldn't be possible.
Lack of interest in PS2 emulation by the general public.
Also, when you're emulating a game on your computer, you can fiddle with settings a bit and you don't mind if you encounter graphical glitches because you are emulating after all, but when Sony provides an emulation service consumers would expect it to work near flawlessly and this kind of quality control is a pain in the arse, especially considering the PS2 massive library. And some games would even be straight up "broken" if the PS5 controller doesn't have pressure sensitive buttons like the PS2 controller did.
