As a 3D games artist, I'm kinda excited that the PS5 will have alleged raytrace capabilities. While a lot of gamers seem apathetic to that, it's tech that will make games look nicer while also reducing the workload on the artists.

I wish they just advertised it like you have. All I've seen of it makes it look like yet another useless flashy thing they can spend millions putting in their games at the expense of actual gameplay content. If they had simply said 'this will calculate something automatically that has previously taken a lot of man-hours to implement manually', that would impress me far more than all those vids simply saying "OOH LOOK HOW PRETTY THE FIRE REFLECTIONS ARE!!"

I just now got my hands on a PS4, now this happens. *SIGH* Damn I'm pathetic.

I got my PS4 1 year after launch, and I still feel this generation went too fast. I never buy a console at launch, so there is no need for me to get it when PS5 releases. Plus, there are plenty of old games I need to get through.

i'll probably get a PS5 before i get the next xbox though because xbox has been shit this gen in all honesty.

Microsoft is the greatest enemy of the Xbox this generation.

First they botch the launch and now they are releasing all their first party titles on the PC, what reason is there to have an Xbox One if everything is also on my PC? The PS4 or Switch are the better companion to a PC these days as they have titles that you can't get.

As much as I hate to say it, if Microsoft want to complete in the next generation then they are going to have to keep a few games as console exclusives, otherwise people will have no reason to buy it.

PS: In case my sarcasm was too obtuse, I want to make clear I see nothing wrong to wait until a console goes down to a price within one's means, and there is no guarantee that any of what it's being announced for the PS5 will be implemented in the way they promote it.
