Meh, I haven't played any of the previous trilogy, and the last one really failed to impress. I think I will pass
best trilogy ever. (with an awesome storyline, awesome enough for me to explain it to friends)
Best Trilogy ever? When did we start talking about Jak and Daxter?

They will make it...

It will be mediocre at best because they have no clue what made the first so good...

it won't sell very well...

Ubisoft will blame piracy because they won't consider they made another awful sequel.

i played jak and dax 2 with his evil transformations and such... i found it sorta slow pased action ...ratchet and clank on the other hand ...(which btw looks a lot like jak and dax... wander who copied who...) is faster with bigger guns and a robot.....i love robots....and ninja lawn gnomes...XD

Hmm... I'm not sure what new territory they can cover by adding another game to the sands of time series, but I guess we'll see... I just hope its not another "Battles of the Prince of Persia".

After not releasing the ending for the last Prince on PC, Ubisoft lost all my good will.
Now it seems they're dropping the whole new storyline.
Way to go, assholes, that's how you build trust in people.

Here's to hoping that this won't be a movie tie-in, but rather a next-gen remake/compilation of the Sands of Time games. Or a new entry that doesn't bastardize the entries before it. Whichever works.

I am officially PISSED. What the hell?! They didn't even resolve the situation from the last game (and yes, I have played the Epilogue). I actually liked that story and would have loved to see it continue, but what do you do, Ubisoft? Return to a 100% tied-up storyline!!! This is the antithesis of innovation, you cunts! RAAAAWR!

The last, "Next Gen" PoP was an abysmal, shallow piece of garbage when compared to ANY of the Playstation games. Yech.

Naughty Dog, Insomniac and Sucker Punch go so far as to swap code to help one another out which is what makes them the definitive faces of there console. they didn't copy anyone they helped each other out.

By the way this news pisses me off, unless this is going to tie both POP timelines together I have no interest in playing as the old Prince. The new one is, for better or worse the current hero so effort should be made to improve upon his game series. The Epilogue just left us with a huge Cliff Hanger with both The Prince and Elika going on there separate ways to stop Ahriman.
Always wondered about that connection, thanks for clearing that up. Love those two series, especially the Jak trilogy. Biggest reason I regret getting a 360

OT: Never much cared for the series, played the first one and lost interest fast

Well, apparently their little excursion into cell-shading, an "open" world, removal of time manipulation and firing any of their good writers didn't really work out. Can't say I'm suprised, the last PoP game was quite bland and unchallenging, and not because you couldn't die, it was simply easy. The poor writing was just icing on the cake.

This news is a mixed blessing. On one hand, I'm glad there's a new PoP game in the works. On the other, I'm afraid they'll just be milking the old trilogy without trying to add anything to it. Sands of Time took the ancient PoP games into a new direction, and did it well for several games across multiple platforms. With the last one the developers tried to take it in yet another direction. They failed, but they still tried and should continue trying and not go back to the old simply because it'll make more $$$. What's next? Prince gets an assault rifle?

...you know, PCs still exist and PoP was released at the same time on that platform as well...
