I just hope the Prince in this one is not Nathan Drake in disguise again... "shudders"
I ended up buying Uncharted and PoP at the same time.... I saw it more than most. But the amount of times I pressed triangle after a failed jump in Uncharted to try and boost it....

I love PoP 2008.

I have the two thrones for my xbox but I don't have that anymore I can't play it anymore. I didn't like the combat in Sands trilogy it felt to clunky and not fluid while in POP 2008 it was much better but the QTE for the boss fights really pissed me off.

if anyone knows where I can buy the sands trilogy for cheap(and for the ps2) let me know.
T'internets.

Hmm. Isn't the SoT Prince now technically the King of Persia, making it impossible for him to be the main character in a chronological sequel?

The hell you say? :( I was totally enamored with PoP 2008, and on the edge of my seat with the ending/epilogue. Now they're ditching that in favor of returning to the Sands of time story? Didn't that get finished off? :p BLAH!

Fuck You, Ubisoft.
The epilogue available for DL did a pretty good job of easing the sting of that epic cliffhanger, but for the most part, I totally agree.

PoP: The Sands of Time has been my favourite game since the day it came out. The latest Prince of Persia to come out sucked. This announcement is both bad news and good news for me.

The fact that it is coming out the same month as the Prince of Persia movie, however, does not bode well for me. Hopefully it isn't just a cash-in, although that seems more than likely.

I bought that fucker to find out what happened, its just adds another 2 hours of gameplay (Which in th DLC, really fucking sucked) with annoying bosses and bullshit trap design.
I loved 2008s game for its sheer scope and platforming, now I wish I hadnt traded it in for that crock of shit titled Infamous...
I got that DLC because I had grown SO attached to Elika, and the Prince, that I had to know what happened following the events of the cliffhanger. I HAD to know (I beat the game a week before the DLC was available)! I'm a story gal, and stories are my everything. PoP2008 was one of the closest cases of gaming perfection I've had in ages. (The only downsides I felt were the forced hunting out of light seeds.) The DLC coulda been 50 bucks and after much hemming and hawwing, I'd have caved for it just to learn what happens next.

With the set up for a sequal laid out sooo perfectly, these guys are really shooting themselves in the foot for not acting on it. :(

Nooooooooooo!
Stop butchering one of my favorite games!

I wish it would be good, but it'll be some colorful, womanish, young prick with no soul.

Oh, nice, I bet this will solve the PoP 08 storyline as well! The prince travels forward (or backward, hmm. wuteva) in time and violently kills the other prince and elika and shuts ormazd in. Yes!

...you know, PCs still exist and PoP was released at the same time on that platform as well...
True, for some reason I thought it was released later on the PC, but I was thinking of the Mac

I...Err...I'm not sure how I feel about this. Shocked is probably the best word.

The Prince of Persia trilogy is my favourite game series of all time, while Sands of Time is my favourite game period. Would I like to play another game like the old Prince of Persia? I'd love to. But the PoP trilogy is just fine the way it is. It began with an interesting premise, the second game developed the mythology further and the final tied it all up with a ribbon on top.

Why try again what you did with PoP 4 (except, you know, good). A new story with the same game mechanics.

Obviously I can't judge until I have the game disk in my console and I'm already throwing the controller across the room, but the term "kicking a dead horse" leaps to mind. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
