you know, good for them to replace a mainstay of the way things were. The simpsons have reflected the nuclear family in the pre and post millennium years pretty well. I guess my biggest problem is that you can only see the same setups leading to character development of someone I was never really that interested in. And that they were usually voiced by hank azaria.

I haven't been able to watch TV in a while (my choice in shows is usually ranked about third unless someone else wants to watch the same show), but I'm glad The Simpsons is still around. As has been said already, I'd take a bad episode of The Simpsons over most of the garbage on TV anymore any day of the week. Excluding History Channel, I love a lot of the specials they still have, such as Life After People.

Stop trying to be 'Family Guy' with random, nonsensical jokes. The Simpsons movie was pure gold and had very little of that.
Huh.

I'm generally confused about your opinion, because while I like The Simpsons, I completely despise both Family Guy and the Simpsons Movie...

Ah- Deh- Buh- Grrrr.

The Simpsons hasn't been funny for years, they should've just pulled a "Fawlty Towers" and finished while they were still funny.

Happy to hear it's continuing. While I can agree that the show is past it's prime, that doesn't mean the show is bad now.
This is what I've been saying to people. Though, only watching the occasional episode on foxtel, I probably haven't even seen any episodes from the last few seasons.

The worst thing that can happen to something good is to be successful, especially in american media. It'll be milked for all it's worth and left to die.

I'd cry about butchering the show's memory, but "The Simpsons" was never funny. From episode 1 onward, it was never funny.

Damn. I'm one of many that is saddened and disgusted by the quality of the Simpsons nowadays...it's a shame it's continuing.

While it's embarrassingly bad and poorly done now, I don't mean that the way it probably sounds. I don't like watching it continue to writhe in pain at it's own content, but I think if anything it could benefit from a series finale.

I just want to know how they can end it. And to actually end it, of cause.

You know what? Good! Great! I want this show to break Gunsmoke's number. I just won't be around for the ride; I got off that train looong ago.

Ugh, why can't you just let them die already Matt? I know they're still making money, but they've been spiritually dead for about 10 years already and they're starting to smell.
Just 10? I lost my love for the show around season 8, a full 13 years ago.
Okay maybe not 10 years exactly. Season 9 was where it starting getting pretty stale.
