I don't see why you guys are whining and complaining about it. if you don't like it don't watch it. Just because something likes to go on forever doesn't mean it's milking it. Example? Heck yes! Tom Waits has been doing music longer than I've been alive. OMG HE'S MILKING IT RAGE RAGERAGE.

Either way I must agree with this chap.

Lucky for me I only saw the movie and have never seen an actual episode on TV so i don't have to come up with an opinion about this

I was around for the Simpsons when it was short inserts in the Tracey Ullman show. It got pretty stale once it reached double digits. I wish they had let the characters age thouh.

Comedy is supposed to make you laugh right? In about 5 seasons the Simpsons has made laugh enough to like one or two episodes.

The other episodes made me question how anything so bad could still be called comedy. It was like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_movie. It made me wonder if Fox had fired the entire writing team and hired Friedberg and Seltzer as writers to save money. Even the recent Banksy introduction was terrible.

I've come to the conclusion that even if the entire Simpsons writing crew was sacked and replaced with 1x10^10000000000 clones of Chuck Norris, it would still struggle to save the Simpsons from stagnation and irrelevance.

Well alright! I hope they get to 700 so they can finally be the longest tv show ever!!!
That'd be longest prime time TV show. There are some mid day soap operas that have been running for over 50 years.
Coronation Street: 7,465 episodes and counting. Longest continually running soap opera still on air. The Simpsons have a hell of a long way to go. They're losing ground, too: Coronation Street has been showing five episodes a week since 2003.

Happy to hear it's continuing. While I can agree that the show is past it's prime, that doesn't mean the show is bad now.
Just that, exactly. I still enjoy the show and like everything of satirical character, it gets fed by reality every day for new.

(But still they cant be the longest running show ever, at least not worldwide, i know at least 1 show that is still on since 1969 over here)

Good to see we have another year of people bitching and moaning that the show's not funny and it needs to go away.
