It's a little hazy since I was so young at the time, but either it was Centipede, Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man not only they were the first that I had ever played, they were available for play at laundromats, making the interminable wait for one's load of laundry to finish seem to fly by. That made videogames pretty magical to me by itself.
For home gaming, that would have to be Super Mario Brothers 2. Super Mario Brothers piqued my attention alright, but it was the sequel that provided an experience that arcade games, up until that time the only proper way to play videogames for me, could not match or surpass, selling me on console gaming.
It also was the first videogame that I recall being able to play a princess in a frilly pink dress which enabled her to glide like a leaf in the breeze so that was aces.
