not really pointless though. i've been saved from lots of Warthogs, missiles and swords with it. if you only get yourself 5 more seconds, you're doing it wrong. i've armour locked, burst out and gunned down (remember, it emps your enemy's shield) loads of enemies, or distracted people while teammates sneak up behind them. and if the teammate dies, well then i can pop out of armour lock and get the guy while he's distracted.
I suppose it depends on your experience. Dodging Warthogs and Energy Swords are what jet-packs are for, in my opinion. Half of the time when I see a member of the enemy team Armour Lock the same thing happens, namely two or three teammates gather round the guy sufficiently far away as not to get caught in the EMP blast (I made that mistake
once as a private, never again), chucking the odd plasma grenade to force them to stay in lock until
we're ready, before falling on the poor guy like a pack of wolves.
All I'm saying is that I've seen and participated in that behavior far too often to even
comprehend picking Armour Lock as my loadout pack.
