I see what you did there
okay, this whole australia thing with games is just getting silly
I started noticing it with the "fallout 3 banned in australia because the player could use morphine to make you feel better" thingRealitycrash said:Now!? This is getting silly NOW!?teh_Canape said:Woodsey said:What a bunch of pussies.

If this is where you draw the line, I am a bit confused about your priorities.
It's way past silly, and has been for years and years.
Well, suck it Aus- Whaaaat?Andy Chalk said:The North American version of the original Witcher was censored too..
Technically the North American version still had "boob cards" and all that jazz, they'd just slightly changed the artwork to cover up the exposed breasts - pin-up art is still pin-up art whether or not there's actual nudity involved after all. Also a few of the non-human female npcs that would wander around naked had longer hair that covers up their nipples, but nothing was actually "cut" from the game like what this story seems to be suggesting.ShadowsofHope said:Well, suck it Aus- Whaaaat?Andy Chalk said:The North American version of the original Witcher was censored too..
This dampens my mood somewhat for this game, to say the least. Damn you, puritans!
Oh, I know. I'm just being slightly facetious there. I have the patch.Gildan Bladeborn said:Technically the North American version still had "boob cards" and all that jazz, they'd just slightly changed the artwork to cover up the exposed breasts - pin-up art is still pin-up art whether or not there's actual nudity involved after all. It was piss easy to "uncensor" the game by overwriting a few files though, and CD Projekt eventually released both an uncensored version and a patch for those of us with original retail copies, so I imagine they might do the same thing after a while for gamers in Australia saddled with the 'censored' copy of the sequel.
On the topic of the impending release of The Witcher 2: Only 12 days more until my copy of the ridiculous collector's edition ships, whee!
Not in this case. Can you say that it's perfectly acceptable to use "If you do this for me, I'll have sex with you" in a product that's apparently meant for fifteen year old teens? I don't think so.jpoon said:Political correctness at its worst, I hate it with a fiery passion.
Actually, it seems pretty clear to me that nudity was cut from the game, which is definitely something. And definitely censorship.Gildan Bladeborn said:Technically the North American version still had "boob cards" and all that jazz, they'd just slightly changed the artwork to cover up the exposed breasts - pin-up art is still pin-up art whether or not there's actual nudity involved after all. Because certain retailers (Wal-Mart) are picky about what games they stock and sometimes game designers will remove content in order to make sure that they're not being shut out of certain markets.Jabberwock xeno said:Question:
Why was it censored here in the US?
