OK i just have so may favorites. Bioware (Mass Effect), Valve (Left 4 Dead, Half life 2, Team Fortress 2), Relic (Dawn of War), Sucker Punch (Jax and Daxter), Insomniac Games (Ratchet and Clank), Bungie (Halo), Pandemic Studios (Destroy all Humans), Codemasters (Worms), THQ (Company of Heroes, Dawn of War), 2K (Borderlands, Bioshock), The Behemoth (Castle Crashers), Bethesda (Oblivion, Fallout), Treyarch (Call of Duty WaW), Ubisoft (Rainbow Six Vegas), Epic Games (Gears of War), Sierra (I believe Timesplitters? (PLEASE CONFORM!)), Free Radical Entertainment (Prototype, Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction), etc (etc).

In my opinion, the LEAST hated developer would probably be Valve as they allow people to mod their maps and they make some really good games with heaps of creativity, as they don't really let you down, unless your not into puzzle shooters or FPS or team based multiplayer combat or zombies for that matter. I always found that each developer has a thing that makes them so popular. Infinity Ward doing a realism modern shooter game that was good, Bethesda making sure you wouldn't move from the couch for two weeks, Sucker Punch and Insomniac and The Behemoth and Pandemic Studios giving humour and life to their games, Epic making, well epic games, and all the others who provide something that appeals to certain people or the masses and is what makes them popular. So i think to a general audience, Valve gives a lot to this world, aside from Half Life 2 Episode 3, but then again, good things take time. too much time if you ask me.

Well Valve won March Mayhem. So there you go.
I voted for them too.
Not just for amazing games, but because they still update them, for free, and they're so nice. Think how many people got Left 4 Dead 2 a little while ago. For free.

BioWare. They made great games recently with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, and are currently working on Old Republic Online which looks better with every update/trailer/preview.

Also because Valve lost points for L4D2, Activision and Infinity Ward with MW2, Bethesda for remaking Fallout (cuz some ppl liked the originals better), Ubisoft just seems to be slacking off with their Tom Clancy games (Hawx, Endwar and the last few Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games were sub par), DICE cuz the next Battlefield needs to not be a damn MW clone and Blizzard I won't even start to list the reasons.

And I hate Valve. Your argument is invalid.

I'd have to say either Blizzard, Free Radical, or Bioware. Those 3 don't seem to attract as much ire around the people I know.

People still hate Valve for taking a very long time to make games.

I'd think Behemoth and Relic.

I'd have to say Westwood. They did everything so well. I still play Tiberian Sun. What could someone possibly hate them for...Aside from being bought out by EA...

Any developer that isn't well known.
Being largely loved doesn' negate the fact that any well known Dev is gonna get a decent amount of hate (often for no good reason) whereas an unheard of one, doesn't attract enough attention.

Valve cant be the least hated. I hate them more than enough for everyone
Quite. "Most loved" is not the same as "least hated". For example, I love Square Enix, but I'm fully aware that many people despise them. Personally I dislike Valve for a number of reasons, but primarily because - for no reason I can determine (although the absolute malfunctioning evil that is Steam might have something to do with it) - none of their games will work on my PC. Especially Half-Life 2 which inexplicably crashes when... well, it doesn't matter but you get the picture.

The point is that no-matter how much love there is for Valve, there's quite a lot of people who don't like them.

Similarly I adore Bioware, but as I've already read on this thread, there are many who don't.

I reckon one of the least hated developers is Team ICO - only two games under their belt which many people seemed to really like. In addition they seem to have relatively little interaction with the public (other than through their products), which seems to be the main cause of pissing people off.

There are loads of former developers that fit the bill too of course - Bullfrog, Looking Glass, Troika - but I don't think they can really count.
