oh, did you know you can hire them for a party?

just read the spiel on the website. www.blackoutband.com

(copied from the website)

"The Black Out Band...

Like many of their friends, this group of 11-year olds; Hunter, Tug and Matthew - had each studied music for several years and decided to get together as a group in 2005, and were soon practicing twice a week.

The idea for Video Games came about when their music coach found the boys playing video games every time he turned his head. Probably in desperation, he told Hunter he ought to write a song about video games. By the next week, and with suggestions from his bandmates, Hunter came to practice with the chorus and first verse.

Playing together, they worked out the basic melody. But were a bit stuck for more verses. Hunter's Mom, Judy, heard the song and couldn't get the catchy lyrics out of her head. As the mother of two sons she had lots of experience with boys playing video games, so just to amuse her family she jotted down what became the next two verses and emailed them to Hunter's Dad. Everyone agreed the song had a certain something and it was pulled together into its finished form, appropriately names "Video Games".

Saturday mornings, as the sound rocked up the basement stairs, visitors just couldn?t stop humming the contagious tune. And soon the boys were asked to perform at local schools. As they started playing the song, kids in the audience were up and dancing and the teachers were caught up in the excitement as well.

Plans were soon underway to capture the performance in a music video so others could enjoy the show. It was made and is now in distribution.

They have recorded 4 more originals - Graffiti, 6th Grade King, Recess Blues and their own cover of Louie Louie. Now working on their next two original songs, like video games, the new tunes are about experiences in the daily lives of this pre teen age group."

The worst to me are Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, or anything that is Pop, Hip-Hop, or Rap, pretty much anything that is mainstream on the radio.

I... Hate... You.... Now.

Anywho, I dislike people who make angry hate threads about bands. It just causes flaming and video posts like the one above. (Yes, I did have to watch it, as I take warnings on quality to be a challenge.)

Music industry guy in a band hate thread, woo!

Actually I like the large majority of the stuff named in this thread, especially the crunkcore.

I suppose I should add my contribution:

If you'll excuse me I'm now off to go and give my ears a good clean...
Was that sarcasm? Because regardless of taste those are some of the best songs ever written.

If it was sarcasm, it was a bit melodramatic, but we could use some good music in here.
No it's not sarcasm. I could write lengthy essays on why all those songs should be forgotten about and never heard from again, please don't tempt me.
i understand all but one, Staircase to Heaven? come on man, the only reason people dont like that song is because it is so good that people play it constantly on the radio and you just get sick of it
You mention that as if it's not a completely valid reason.

Rush, System Of A Down, and every single modern pop act.
Rush?!?!? You think Niel fuckin Pert is in one of the worst bands of all time? the guy who is reguarded as the most talented drummer in the world? that one? oh, and btw, rush isnt new, they have been together since 1968

Yup and I know Rush isn't new I just didn't feel like listing out every single modern pop act I thought people with good comprehension skills could figure that out. Anyway Rush is just boring and when they aren't boring they are over-the-top bad just awful, offensively bad, nerdy lyrics. Also I find Neil Peart to be an incredibly boring drummer, yeah he has talent to put me to sleep. Nobody wants to hear extended drum solos.

Yeahhhh.... I don't think you're allowed to call bands generic when you've got a Metallica avatar.
Metallica is the greatest band in the world, the harbingers of trash metal. They revived the genre and made heavy metal what it is today. Furthermore, they are most certainly not generic. Their songs are all original, so there are definitely not generic.
There. Fixed it for you.

Wow. We should really thank Metallica for reviving the genre. The genre that has given us such incredible gems like Chelsea Grin, Seether, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Killswitch Engage.
Yeah, they all revere Metallica.
So if any bad/mediocre band lists another group as one of their influences, or inspirations, or what have you, then that group is just as bad or worse? That's the worst logic I've seen since someone I met five years ago said "If someone calls you gay, then you automatically become gay."

Your argument would've been at least semi-valid if the bands you listed actually sounded similar to Metallica, but even then the only people who would've agreed with you would've been the ones did before you posted anyway.
Why I don't like metallica:

1. They have the word "Metal" in their name. If any other band did that they'd get lynched for being posers.

2. Their songs are incredibly long. They're not incredibly long journeys of sound like Pink Floyd's songs or Rhapsody of Fire's songs, they're just really long. They take a 2 minute song, tack on a guitar solo and repeat the song twice to make a 6 minute song which is just repetition.
*Side note*
I was at a friend's house playing Guitar Hero. It was my friend's turn to play and he chose "Master of Puppets" and started playing. The song was droning on for what seemed like ages so I went to the kitchen to have a soda. I suddenly heard the song again and asked him if he re-started the song to weasel me out of a turn. He said that the song was like that. Naturally, I didn't believe him so when my turn came I did Master of Puppets too. I quickly realized that he was telling the truth; the song really is this long and repetitive.

3. Their songs are repetitive. The same few guitar chords over and over in the song and the drummer having an aneurysm on the drums while the lead singer does his best "Cat getting his scrotum rubbed against a cheese grater" impression.

4. Their fans. I hate their fans. Most of them are annoying neckbearded men in their 20's or 30's that will defend Metallica with their heart and soul as the "OMG TEH GRETEST BAND EVUHR!" and claim that it's "real rock" and that anything after it is just shite. Same goes for its 12-15 year old fans who think they're rebellious and rock hard just because they know a few Metallica songs from Guitar Hero. It's basically the smug and annoying attitude they have that bugs the living crap out of me.

I hope these 4 points explain why I don't like the band much. I don't think you or anyone is going to read the whole thing, but I took my time to explain why I don't like them instead of just going for "I don't like them cus they're gay".

PS:
I've never felt pumped up while listening to Metallica.
Now this changes things. You actually give reasons that make sense, one of which is true, but I don't necessarily find to be a bad thing, one of which is true of every modern band, and two of which I agree are bad things, and one of those two is actually my reason for hating a popular computer/electronics brand.

It seems like you could've said that stuff originally, but at least you did eventually give a valid argument, and for that I salute you (not that you should care about what I think, I'm just some anonymous prick on the internet, right?)
Well, I wouldn't use the word "prick", but some anonymous guy on the internet who has his head where it belongs and can read a forum post longer than 2 sentences.

Here's one most of you will hate:

>.>
<.<
I like that band...
They're actually not so bad as other bands that have been listed in this thread. That's not exactly my favorite vocal style, but I don listen to a few bands that do the whole death-metal scream thing. Plus there was some really solid guitar work in there too.

Any band which thinks they're the next big thing; Slipknot for example. After one of them saying "We'll be the next Metallica" and later, another one of the members saying they were the "Heaviest" band on the planet. I think I can name 100 heavier bands than them, and alot more successful bands than them. Considering their fanbases' average age is 13, I also hate the fans; Not because they're young, but due to their narrow minded-ness, they tell other people who dislike SlipKnoT that they're not fans of "true" metal. Ugh... After the black metal scene and all their KVLT stuff, I really can't be bothered with people labeling bands as true metal.

Next thing, all the bands who sit on the fence between Death Metal and Alternative Rock (Like August Burns Red, Attack Attack etc). What genre are they?! People claim them to be hardcore, but they just look pathetic bouncing up and down with their fringes over one eye.

Another thing; Metalcore: Bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine: They're not Thrash Metal! Bands like Kreator, Slayer (Even though they're hella-repetative), Anthrax etc are Thrash Metal. The different is very clear, so stop telling me Bullet are Thrash Metal.

Deathcore aswell... Those stupid, asshats like "iwrestledabearonce" and "wecamewithbrokenteeth" are just stupid, they have no structure to their songs and the lyrics are just horrible. Plus, they're not Grindcore either; Usually with Grindcore, you'd get Political based lyrics (See Napalm Death lyrics) due to their roots coming from Hardcore Punk (bands like Discharge etc). Don't get me wrong, Deathcore bands like Despised Icon etc are good, and I'm not totally against Deathcore, but it's just those bands which only get their record sales from scene kids.

All 'n' all, the worst bands ever are the bands who make a living from living off trends, without possessing any real talent/unique way of playing music.

*Sobs* That Attack Attack video posted on here earlier hit a nerve, and I was forced to write this.

Oh god, that's awful. Here's my reasons why I believe this:

1) That main kid is an abismal singer. There was no variation in his voice at all. And it just sounds like they forced a kid with some sort of throat infection to "sing" the damn song.
2) They're possibly the most vapid, empty lyrics ever. There's no symbolism, no double meanings, it's just a blatent statement repeated for arround three minutes.
3) They clearly don't even know what they're talking about. The clips of them using controllers show that the can bearly hold it properly, let alone push the buttons in a way that makes it look like they're playing a game. Mashing all the buttons is not how video games work! Well, except fighting games, but that's beside the point.
4) It's just so damn boring! It makes me feel nothing except discomfort at the kids "singing". A song should be emotive and powerful in some way, and this is the complete opposite of a song.

Ahem. Now that's done, my choice for worst band ever is... fuck it, it's those kids. Congratulations Black Out Band, you've made it to the top of my musical hit list.

that faceless copy paste band. The one with a billion shirts at Hot Topic, and that all sound the same. They cycle through the dumbest names, and you can't understand what they're saying. They call themselves punk, and unfortunately so. The first rule of Punk if you don't call yourself a punk, because then you're a nazi-punk, and no one wants that.
I hope you aren't talking about The Faceless, cause they're Tech. Death Metal. D:
