That would have been such a great idea, except I had finished my work and logged off before you made the suggestion and root was back on way before I.

I think I agree with Saskwach; this probably needs to be a one-time thing unless the mods want to (and are able to) automatically generate birthday greetings. Otherwise birthdays will be missed and feelings will get trampled. (Not mine, I don't have any left.) More to the point, there are roughly a million hits per month if I remember correctly. If the site has 100,000 members, that's almost 300 birthdays a day, every day, on average. Even if there are only 10,000 members, that's still almost 30 birthdays a day. Such threads would literally fill the board and crowd out everything else.

Apologies to everyone who isn't The_root_of_all_evil, but I think for logistics reasons this will have to remain unique.
