I'm glad they're making a sequel to one of my all time favourite series evity evar, but I don't think it's really all that needed.

I thought the 3 games already did everything there is to do in the thief universe, and the third one had a nicely wrapped up ending; I really don't see where they could take this one.

Anyways, I remain optimistic that they will make something decent. If not then taff' 'em all, the bunch of taffing taffers.

edit: Also, I wonder if they will keep Garret and forget the whole 'passing the torch' ending. If Garret is the protagonist, I hope they make it a prequel to the series; I think that would work a whole lot better. Either that, or they should make the girl the protagonist imo.

I've never played any Thief game. Yet people who have similar tastes in games like me often said it was good. I'll definitely give this one a try. Even though stealth games make me fall asleep usually...
They were definately not boring. Heart thumping stealth action! It did actually require a lot of doing on your part to stay out of the light, not be heard, etc. It was really fun!

I can NOT wait for this game. I really, really can't wait.

I think that my only stipulation would be that they retain the voice actor for Garrett....
I have one other.

Hire Jordan "Null" Thomas. He's the creative genius behind the Shalebridge Cradle. Give him free reign over level design. Read here [http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83560&page=2] for where he talks to a bunch of us Thief aficionadoes (including me!) about the mission.

I swear to you, do these two things and I will literally squee with delight.

It's not the lack of suspense that is keeping me from these games, it is the pace of the game. I am mostly used to games like Unreal Tournament 2004, and I'm definitely not a camper. Instead I like to charge amongst my brethren in the front lines, taking the enemy flag, and running - no, flying - towards my base to score one for my team.

I've tried stealth games, Splinter Cell, Hitman, Chronicles of Riddick, but I ended up trying to kill anyone because I didn't have the patience to slowly study the enemy, hide in dark corners and ambush them. I find these games intriguing, but the gameplay is just not laid out for me. Yet I'll probably try again anyway in Thief 4. Perhaps I can Rambo the game. :)

I've had the Thief 4 thread bookmarked for such an eventuality, I can't wait for the return of Garrett. He's one of my favorite video game characters. Seriously, combine him and Three Dog in a game and I will do ANYTHING to get that game. As is I will only do almost anything for Thief 4.

I've just recently started playing thief 3, and have found it quite a good game so this is excellent news.

Huh, so it does. Still, was a lot easier for me to just get it through Steam, think I might have struggled to find a mac version these days.

It would be totally awesome if it has assassin's creed type gameplay as part of it.We could play as a thief who could scale up walls and execute cool kills from the dark...

I wonder what Yahtzee will think of it.

I like stealth, but few games have really done it for me. Hitman 4 was one of the few I really loved (once I figured out how) and got me more into stealth (up until then the aspect interested me more)
and then I got into Splinter Cell a bit. Someone actually reccomended me Thief cause of me prattling on about Morrowind (again) but I never actually tried it. If it is on the 360, I will probably get it. Though Yahtzee's inevitable review I may count on more than I usually do.

I just picked up the Thief Collection (1, 2, and 3) from my local game store a couple of days ago. Haven't had a chance to actually play them yet, so I'm not sure yet how excited I am about this. But it's good to know that a sequel is on its way...

I hope it will be available for consoles as well as computers. *frets* But Garret is back, I hope they have the same voice actor. Actually, I hope the guard voice actors are back as well, they were a riot. I can't wait!
