Guys, I found one stone "Broken Stone Altar" Does that have anything to do with it?
When I click it all it says is that it has an indent and something could be placed.

Check again to see if you can find the Phylactery after the quest is complete. I'm fairly certain you should still be able to do it.

If not, the fastest way would be to make a new character and head straight to the Dalish Elves after Lothering, then get it there.

As a future note, you should really start making separate saves just in case for this sort of thing.
Does it have anything to do with the earthern jug of water?
No, but it is near that area.

The DA:O wiki has this to say about the exact location:

LOCATION: Brecilian Ruins

FLOOR: Lower Ruins

MAP: Middle Right; left section of two outstretching quarters.

LANDMARK: Broken Stone Altar; the section looks like a ruined library with a broken altar. If you see this land mark and it specifically says "Broken Stone Altar", then you are in the correct room.

POSITION: It is hidden in the shadows of that room; it's not sparkling, so just use your controller on the area across from the broken altar, next to the headless statue if you are playing on a console. If you are playing on a PC press tab to highlight all interactable objects in the room.

ITEM: Phylactery

Hold down Tab a lot.

Im guessing I cant get it as any class other then a mage?
I got it on my first play through as a Rogue. To my knowledge the only restricted specialisation is Blood Mage which you can only unlock if your PC is a mage.

The Phylactery should be about five feet away from that in a little pile of rubble if memory serves correctly.

Very Old Stick? ;o
My bad it isn't called stick. It is called Piece of Wood (it has been a few days since I played stupid Borderlands addiction)

- A Rogue with the lockpicking skills. That means either a Rogue PC or Leliana, since Zevran doesn't come with lockpicking skills right off the bat unless you use the respec mod. I hate missing locked chests/doors, and I hate doing every area twice to get the missed chests even more.
- A Mage with Heal and Forcefield. Mages are vastly overpowered, and while they have many, many spells that can win battles, Heal and Forcefield are IMO the most valuable and universally useful. Heal keeps your tank alive without having to rely on potions, and Forcefield is brilliant for taking an enemy out of the fight, and has the best success rate of any disable spell and a better duration than anything else.
- The TAB key.
- The Coercion skill. While it's not strictly necssary, I simply cannot play an RPG without a persuasive character.

Me trusty ol' axes.
Best runes in both of them.
(I'm a dwarf champion berserker, mind you)
I eat high dragons for breakfast.

I would have to say Juggernaut Armor on Alistar. Or just Alistar in general. I found him to be the most fun of anybody, save Zevran. Both of them were a joy to have around. Morrigan was great until my third playthrough where her overall bitchyness is already past getting on my nerves. When I get Wynne, I won't bother with her again. She is amusing but having her fuss over me helping people when I am obviously getting something out of it just seems like arbitrary cliche' woman cattyness...

It had a charm and still does, I suppose, but it has worn a bit thin. Luckily, she is ever delightful wandering around exchanging barbs with other party members.

As for what I can't do without, gear or spell wise... I have enjoyed the Dwarven Merchant Belt to get more money. Blood Dragon Armor is awesome for Arcane Warriors though I ended up in the Legion armor for my end game run with Alistar in Dragonbone Warden Commander Armor. I also put the Keening Blade and the shield who's name eludes me on him as well... If you run Arcane Warrior, I strongly suggest Spell Weaver from the Ruined Temple.

Damn, there is a lot I consider necessary and I haven't even mentioned half of it. @_@

Um, I suppose I should mention spells. I tend to do the base Mage skill chain on everybody for the spell focus, shield, and spellpower boost. I stumbled on my Entropy and shields build for Arcane Warrior and found it worked ridiculously well. I loathe the idea of playing Hard or Nightmare because of the friendly fire damage because I love blanketing a battlefield in Tempest and Blizzard from Morrigan and then Death Cloud from myself.

Ya know, I hadn't honestly thought of that. Thank you. I will have to make one sometime. I was going to do a nod to the Neverwinter Nights game that had the Dwarven Rogue with the crossbow and make a Dwarven Rogue with a Crossbow and work on getting spell immunity. XD

I might make a Spell immune beserker instead.

Yes they are. I just haven't played one yet. I went human warrior Templar/Reaver with greatsword for my first playthrough. Ridiculously powerful Elven Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer for my second. Now I have a human rogue chic who is a sexy and sassy redhead tailored to look like our girlfriend in CT that will end up boning Alistar because my previous two playthroughs have proven that he deserves sex.

My next step is either a blood mage tribute to my friend in the swampy state of LA or my lesbian artist friend in Australia who will be boning the bard while wearing heavy armor and swinging a big sword. She'll be proud.

However, you have magically derailed my idea for a money hungry dwarven rogue because I now want a Dwarven champion/beserker more. Oghen needs a drinking buddy.

On a lighter note, my friend is LA is saddened since you can't have dwarven mages. He was wanting to make a gay dwarf mage named Fabylon to bone Zevran for lulz.

And oddly enough, I am married and we have two sons and I am STILL this much of an rp nerd. I will also be running D&D tonight. Hopefully this will explain how I have at least four more character build ideas lined up.

Zevran, Morrigan and Alistair. They make everything so much easier, which is why I'm about to start screaming because of the Circle of Magi quest.
Just kill Wynne.

That's what I did.

Wow... I actually found Wynne more useful than Morrigan. I think I might kill her when I play my Blood Mage, which is a while away.

I hate that lockpicking subtracts from combat skill so I've been having L. master that and using her as a post cleared dungeon cleanup crew while Zevran is my combat Rogue.

What? She was getting all up in my grill. I said I was going to go kill some mages and she was all "Don't you care about the circle?" and I was all "No, frankly I hate the Circle." and then I killed her.

Stupid cow. I'm just being pragmatic. I want an army of Templars at my back. They have way better outfits than the smelly battle mages with their stupid cowls.

Seriously, does anyone else hate the mage headgear in this game?

I could've killed her instead of going in, and avoided the whole thing? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh no, you still have to do it all. You just don't have to listen to her whining all the time.
