I'm with you on the strip club thing- another part of it I don't get is women who are okay with their partner going to them. I mean, it's like it's only not cheating if you are paying for it?
I don't understand it.

Which brings me to hen and stag knights, another thing I don't get.
Now, I get having a party, but not a `last night of freedom` type of thing.

But maybe I'm just massively antisocial?

People who genuinely seem to enjoy clubbing...I'm fairly sure that most people don't actually enjoy it. But there are a small minority of people I know who seem to love it being hot, stupidly expensive, and full of sweaty fuck-ugly strangers.

I don't understand society. Do I win the thread now? I'm legit serious as I've never understood the need to interact with people optionally. I guess th better way of saying that would be "I hate dickish people who think they're all superior and such". -.-

What I don't get? Money, women, cars, zombies, giant robots on two legs, and theoretical mathematics just to name a few.
And all of that too, minus theoretical mathematics. That's fun stuff.

Also, DoPo, you should also congratulate yourself for making me laugh today. That post just made me chuckle, that's all.

Drugs and cigarettes.

I really never did see why you would go out of your way to pay good money to get a buzz/down for a few minutes/hours. Then claim it's 'natural' to snort/inject/smoke/etc whatever substance they choose. Sometimes I just don't get people.

Considering you people post on a site called "The Escapist" and enjoy one of the greatest forms of Escapism in years, I'm shocked to find out you don't "get" drugs. It's escapism, man. Same with cigarettes, sort of.

Hey, I guess that's what I don't get.

I don't get the whole 'she brought it upon herself' defense for rape. I mean, do some guys really need to fuck someone that badly just because a girl wearing a low cut top gave them a boner?

Oh, and this. I get mad whenever people seem to be all 'oh, the only reason aliens haven't visited us yet is because humans are so terrible/warlike/bad at cooking. If the dolphins/lemurs/pandas were the dominant race, there'd be no problems.'

C'mon guys, we can be bad sometimes but to be honest, we're the best of a bad bunch. Humans are a damn sight better than a lot of species would be in our position.

I don't get it either! I mean, shy girls with lots of clothes are so much easier to rape...

I don't even know if that rape joke was funny... That's a very hit and miss topic in comedy. I need to get out more.

Actually, I don't get rape jokes. Sometimes they're funny, right? I mean, in the very rare cases. What makes those rare gems funny? Doesn't matter, even the good ones aren't that funny.

I just don't 'get' smoking.
I can only speak for myself, but I smoked because I liked the look (stupid, I know) and because I wanted to practice the Sickboy rule, and show everyone how easy it was to quit. Which it was.

Also, I've physically felt like shit since I was about 14, so I figured smoking couldn't make me feel any worse.

If you'd ever had a good experience on drugs like ecstasy you would completely understand the appeal. Problem is, because it's not legalised there is no regulation so you can never tell whether you'll have a great time or spend 8 hours boring a hole in the wall with your eyes.

So I guess what I don't get, in that respect, is why they don't legalise regulated MDMA, which has been proven to have less negative effects than legal drugs like alcohol or tobacco. Also, you don't get a hangover with drugs like that, you just sleep for fucking ages.

You made me laugh, and now we're both going to hell for it. Goddamn it, I'm supposed to be sensitive to these kinds of issues!
I've been trying to quit making these jokes... It's an addiction.

I don't get sports. Especially baseball, which seems like the most boring sport of all time, yet seems to make the most money in the US. I mean people pay hundreds of dollars to buy crappy clothes and hats, hundreds more to go sit in a stinky, crowded stadium and consume overpriced bear and junk food, just so that they can watch a bunch of millionaires play with balls.

But it's worse than that, because it seems like many sports fans (depending on country and state) are so fervently in love with their team that after a big game where their team loses (or wins) they'll start a riot and generally fuck up an entire area around the stadium. Or they'll just get in fights with people. Even the worst parts of internet fandoms can't really compare, you'll never see an MLP meetup start bashing in car windows.

Anyway, all I'm saying is, I'd rather just play a basketball game or softball game myself than pay hundreds to show my devotion to some team and watch them play.

Wait, nope, shit that was sarcasm, wasn't it? I get why rapist choose those girls as targets, but I don't get why people try to hold the girl accountable when it's the rapists fault for not being able to keep it inside his (or her) pants.

The more I think about it, the bigger a puzzle it seems to me - why is it in our generation of enlightened, strong, independent women are Twilight, 50 Shades, and Beautiful Creatures, stories that have female protagonists written by actual women who give them no respect or dignity, becoming not just successful but cultural phenomenons?

The answer is right there. People do it because of the endorphin rush that smoking gives them. Not much else to it.

OT: I don't get girls taking pictures of themselves doing that stupid duck face. Why do they do this? Who could possibly think this is sexy?

On a similar note, why do people use instagram to make their pictures look orange, giving everything a dirty look?

As I was writing the joke you found funny Thanks for that. Now if people are pissed, I can drag you down, too.), I wasn't sure how well it would go down. It got me thinking about rape jokes. I'm a strong believer in the idea that everything can be funny but I can't really remember any good rape jokes.

Anyway, I actually do agree with you. The whole "provocative clothes" thing is a genuine defense for rapists and that in itself is scary. Then again, I do think that women who wear these clothes shouldn't be so pissed when a guy stares. It's when it goes past staring and attempted flirting that it's fucked up.

Nobody can explain this, I think... Actually, thinking about it, this is an excellent question. Better than I originally thought and I thought it was good to begin with.

I don't understand it.
I can't imagine it will help you much in your understanding, but I am one of those women and the plain and simple fact is that I don't consider it cheating at all. It's paying to watch ladies be arousing, I suppose I equate it more with porn than prostitution. If I did consider it cheating and wanted to be a fair and open partner (which I hope to be), I'd have to stop watching any film with attractive men being attractive and sensual in it. I'm not prepared to do that, so there we are!
