***** is not used as an offensive term (or even directed at the woman) but in the context of the internet phrase.
I'm sorry, I just don't think it's a cool thing to be saying. In response to that photo series, doubly not cool.
Welcome to the internet? You'll need thicker skin than that if you intend to stay on here.

To the photo series...uhmm, that was the oddest thing I've read/seen on here in a long while. I'm not really sure what compelled them to make the photos. Seems odd, but hey, to each their own.

I don't even know why someone would want to do this. This is just so misogynistic and nasty, and it's not even funny or clever.
You must be new to the interweb.

You are really going to hate it on the internet. Allow me:

Fuck it it wont embed properly: Joke

and this is coming from a feminist.

As I feel I must:

~~~DISCLAIMER: Seriously, do I have to express how stupid it would be to actually support this blatant sexism? Well it would be very stupid; like I say I'm a feminist. No offence intended to ANYONE~~~
Oh right; and yeah; I see myself asking why this happened, I don't have a problem with it; but the conversation as to how this came into being must've been interesting.
Mental note: Lightsabers make terrible vibrators. On an unrelated topic, I have a severely crispy hooker in my closet for sale.
No one SUPPORTS sexist Internet jokes; they just laugh at it. Because it's fucking funny.
Well, there ARE a few sickos out therre. But the majority of Internet people aren't sexist. This may or may not have been your point.
The Prequels need more than just the removal or Jar Jar Binks. I think the removal of all of it would be a significant improval.
Moving along now, I find this highly amusing. Out of curiosity, though, what is that bulbous thing on her head? I never really got into the Star Wars universe, so I really don't know.
She is supposed to be a Twi`liek (spelling is likely wrong) in the movies they are generally blue, yellow and green. Those things on the head are part of their brains as well as sensory organs (with sexual sensitivity I guess).
Yeah, I've spent too much time on Wookipedia.
OT: I seriously thought that was an image of the next Lady Gaga video or something, what a wacky day and age we live in.
Eh?
I see little point in creating this, though that's fanfic and prequels for you.
Erm... the very same as any artistic photography? It has very little to do with fanfic really, it's more of a tribute/use of setting to create a specific photo set. It could go as pin-up art even.
Quite the contrary; I've been on the internet since 1993 (and I can prove it - I posted on Usenet). I've seen far worse than this. That's why I still feel the need to comment when I see vile misogynystic nonsense; because I think that it's still important that someone does.
I have an opinion. I stated it. That is all. If my opinion bothers you, maybe you should examine your own attitudes first.
Besides, I don't feel the need to "lighten up" - my bloke and I went to see the Captain America film yesterday, then followed it up with pizza and a nice bottle of South African red wine. I'm quite chipper, thanks!
Oh good, not just me then.
And I'm glad you commented, fellow feminist net-vet (been online since 1992), because yes, someone needed to. The photo spread was bad enough, the comments made me want to take up drinking as a hobby. (And yes, of course I've seen worse. That still doesn't make it okay.)
Now you're just blowing smoke and pretending there's no fire.
A typical attitude used by people who start arguments then pretend like they're immediately back in the 'cool' and 'logical' zone to avoid being called out as hot and bothered by the entire ordeal.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with your position. Calling a woman '*****' is not nice at all, but this is the internet. On the internet, words and phrases are all used quite differently, and that's not going to change for a long time. Get used to it or prepare to argue yourself into trouble with every forum mod you come across.
