It depends on when you quit. Blizzard has added a lot of quest hubs (this was a while ago) for those awkward transitions in levels. Plus, the 'looking-for-dungeon' tool makes it so you can quest while you're in queue for a dungeon. Then the queue will pop, and port you directly (if you accept) to the dungeon. Also, battle grounds give a butt load of experience now. So breaking up the 'grind' is pretty easy now. Another tip is the give the quests a shot, give them a read - some of them have some pretty cool stories (especially once you start to get into the plaguelands/slithilis/felwood/feralas).
To be honest though, if you want to give it another shot,but are worried about getting bored, see if there is someone else who wants to play with you. I know my girlfriend and I are leveling characters together (it'll be her first character to max level), and I know it makes the game so much more fun for the both of us. Plus the sens of wonder/mystery is the best your first play through. (I play on Smolderthorn and it's a pretty good server).
