It's not a question of "Like" or sympathies. Surely you have your views, but you're not going out of your way to make another person feel bad about it. And that's the problem in these cases, theres a fine line in holding a view point or a perfectly valid feeling and well... in laymans terms, just being a dick.

Thats part of the reason, though I'm for social changes like gay marriage, I have a hard time supporting the Rainbow Armada because it appears they demand to want acceptance out of everyone. and that's wrong too. Everyone has the right to be tolerated, no one has the right to be accepted.

See... People should be able to see the errors of their ways, in such, their ways of veing homosexuals... but seriosuly.. A TOWNS WAR ON GAY TEENS? Seriously? Do we want a world where in the next 100 years, people are still fighting over sex, sexual perferences, race, and different religions? No, with people like these, no one will ever be able to sit down and able to accept others beliefs. In stead you got people like these... Who don't seem to even grasp that concept. If fear is the only way to push it upon them then so be it! At least their won't be children in middle schools committing sucide because of children hating on them for being different.

Wait what, people have the right to like or not like whatever they choose . In principle . If you don't like cake , i can't force you to like cake, it's your right to not like cake . Same principle applies here , if someone doesn't like homosexuals , you can't force the person to like them , that is their right ( keep reading don't quote just that). Now here , we have discrimination , discrimination is bad , no ome should ever be discriminated against no matter what the situation is , not liking a person for whatever reason is a mans right but to dkscriminate is taking things way too far .

Don't just tell them to respect gays, teach them exactly WHY they should respect gays. Try to educate them. And failing that, yeah, just throw 'em in prison. But you can't just deal with an undesirable part of humanity by killing them all. How is that any more constructive then what they would do to the gays? The fool adults that let things get this far aren't the only problem here. More attention needs to be brought to teaching kids that bullying isn't acceptable. The self-esteem issues extend in that direction as well; people who feel good about themselves don't treat others this way. We spend so much time reacting to the symptoms of a troubled person that barely any effort is made to fix the damn problem itself. More children need to be informed that making others feel horrible about themselves is not a habit to grow up perfecting; the people who behave this way should be the ones corrected by their peers and the adults around them, period, and if they can't figure that out on their own (because really, what do parents do to make it obvious to them?). They need to be told, plainly and simply, by parents and teachers alike, what they're doing when they treat other people like this, and they need to be punished when they misstep.

Whatever other mistakes the school district made, they didn't force these kids to treat each other like this. We foster this sort of environment when we don't teach our kids some damned empathy. Lack of gay sympathy or awareness isn't ultimately what caused the suicides; fear, humiliation, torment, and pain did. Sexual orientation was merely the vehicle in this particular case.

Christianity: Loving your fellow neighbour, unless of course they don't love the opposite sex. Until about forty years ago the provision also included "Unless they're not white." and I'm sure that for plenty of people it still does.

This is why I can't be catholic. This is why I can't believe in God. Because these people honestly, truly believe that God would be happy with them looking the other way over teenagers killing themselves because "homosexuality is a sin" and "suicide lands you in Hell". While at the same time conveniently ignoring all of the contradictions such as God supposedly creating all of mankind in "His" own image, and loving them for it. And his own son, as already mentioned, having little more than disdain for anyone who considered themselves to be "righteous crusaders".

God was wrathful over many things man did, but hardly ever was he wrathful because of something like Will & Grace.

EDIT: Just to clarify, because it's rather late and I'm sure my rage-filled post will easily be taken the wrong way, I know quite clearly that many, many Christians of all denominations do not share these insane views. But it's these types of religious whackos that make me unable to comprehend how they could possibly think their all-loving deity would be okay with what they're doing.
