Hmmm, well, I guess this is where me being a Christian comes into the conversion. From an atheistic point of view, your argument makes sense, but for me.... Well, lets just agree to disagree on that. And no, I dont use condoms because I'm eighteen and don't have premaritial sex (and i dont have a girlfriend).apomk2 said:That's a bit of a silly thing to say, since it implies that nature has a point or a reason, and that there is such a thing as "unnatural". Implications that are very much debatable.Berithil said:My personal reasons for disagreeing with it are that its just seems... unnatural. It's a man and a woman for a reason (man + woman = children). The whole natural point of sex is for reproducing. Homosexuality kinda defeats that. In my opinion, two men or two women isn't the natural way.
Would you consider a fish trying to leave water and walk on their stubby fins natural? Isn't a fish "supposed" to be in the water? Well guess what, it's thanks to that crazy fish that you and me exist.
There is no such thing as "unnatural". To quote George Carlin on a different issue, it's a "meaningless, fucking term". Nature doesn't care what you do with it. Otherwise, wearing clothes, practising agriculture or driving a car would just be as unnatural.
I agree with the rather obvious conclusion that homosexual sex doesn't help with producing offspring. But how is that an argument? Most sex practised today in the western world doesn't help with producing offspring, that doesn't mean that there is a problem with it. Homosexual couples are very much capable and willing of raising children (which is arguably much more of an issue nowadays than merely producing them is), if society would just let them.
You're obviously not required to participate in homosexual.. activities, but implying that homosexuals are doing something wrong is, without trying to be inciting, pretty ignorant.
TL;DR: You do use condoms, don't you? So what was your argument again?
You aren't As long as you tolerate gay's in.Berithil said:I swear, I'm not trying to sound "holier than thou".apomk2 said:snip
Excuse me. What the hell are you trying to insinuate? I do hope i misinterpret your words and if not that, that you are trolling. It seems you are saying that their suicides were right and that this is some sort of evolution. Your sick.defskyoen said:Ah, natural selection at work I see, culling the weak and incapable of reproduction so the human race may live on.

I'd advice against that you use Right of the Strong-rethoric. You are far too weak for that.defskyoen said:Ah, natural selection at work I see, culling the weak and incapable of reproduction so the human race may live on.

Indeed. The teachers should never have to be put in a position where they have to choose between their jobs and intervening in the killings.Henkie36 said:The fact still ermains: someone has to fire a teacher for trying to stop someone getting bullied. I was thinking that we were on the dawn of the New Age. I was wrong. It's only dusk the night before.
I agree.Terminate421 said:I think I lost a few brain cells after reading this:

But I agree with this more. Your talking about the church that grosses large amounts of money that is basically a brand. Making thousands to build brand new solid gold prayer areas. Theres praying, and practicing faith, then theres taking control of peoples faith to gain a profit, which the Catholic church does.Fawxy said:I'm always confused by people who acknowledge the horrific flaws/corruption in the Catholic church, and yet still support the institution anyways. OT: This is incredibly sad. First and foremost all respect/prayers/condolences need to be given to the children affected... and at the same time, we must acknowledge that there are those who would gladly return us to the Dark Ages if given the chance.
Civil rights is a constant struggle. Something tells me that will never change.
The teachers are not the enemies here. The enemy here is the extremely ignorant and bigoted background the school is in. I'm sure they didn't want a kid to die as much as the next man, but if the jumped in and helped then the media, church and several parents mom's would say that the school is supporting the "Sinful lifestyle of Gays" and that they should all "Gays burn in hell, repent, be straight" and many more.Chunga the Great said:I genuinely cannot describe the sheer rage I feel when I see shit like this. I moved out about 3-4 years ago. Now that I think back to it, the kids there were little monsters. 1 out of every 3 people I met there were asses.Jesse Willadson said:Wow I moved out of that area when I was 7. Starting to look like it was the best thing to do
I am not one to fight back on stuff like this at all but when Christianity builds something it isn't as a brand. They are built as a service, the people being paid usually need it because their religious services require them to take time out of their lives and do something.Aprilgold said:I agree.Terminate421 said:I think I lost a few brain cells after reading this:

Few things I read ever make me want to double over and start crying. This very much pushed that. School did the best of two evils, either defend the gay kids, and run the gauntlet of being the medias 5:00 clock news story. Or have the kids be punished into suicide, while still keeping jobs open and staying good in the media. Both are wicked for someone, just depends on whether you think the school should have taken a hit or if there was no other option.

Bullies should be dealt with, and whoever introduced the neutrality policy.
I just shake my head in disappointment at how much our species sucks.WolfThomas said:There's a quote from Transmetropolitan that while not relevant to the particular issues, sums up my routine disappoint with modern society.
To have come so far, but still have people die over something like sexuality makes me sad.The Twentieth century gave the human race it's score card. Kardashev and Dyson made concrete the notion of type one, type two and type three civilizations.
A type one civilization has mastered its planet, inside out, is utilizing the world's entire energy potential and has wiped away all the internal struggles of its race.
A type two civilization has energy needs so massive that it can only be met by physically harnessing the sun.
In the type three scenario, the civilization has gone galactic, extracting energy on an interstellar basis.
We can make magic with engines smaller than a virus, and yet, just today, twenty-four people in this city alone will die from having walked into the wrong district or community. We are still not even a type one civilization. This remains a zero society.
Lol, you can just move to any of our cities and hang out wherever you want dude.RT-Medic-with-shotgun said:THAT IS IT!
Going to get a book on stone working and going to start buying tools. Moving to Canada to become a hermit. Cannot take this country anymore. This makes me too sad to even be angry. I think i broke something in my head so i will go lay down for a bit.
Wellll... If you do your hermit thing, some people may look at you funny, but provided you just act normal (or pretend to be normal like Clark Kent) then we won't attack your street with people carrying signs saying how bad it is to like cherries instead of strawberries.RT-Medic-with-shotgun said:So i can move there and just chill no one will bother me.
