Single player campaign was WAY too short. If they want to double or more it's length then they'll have earned a better score.
No, it was too long. After one hour, waiting for scripted pathblocking event #8885858329 to stop bugging out on me, I just wanted this stupid game to be over.

I love the juxtaposition of "Our goal is always to get a perfect score" and "You can't apply math to art." Numbers aren't important at all! Unless you give us GOOD numbers, that is. Then they're the only thing that matters.
Excellent first/second post. Full marks...oh...that was ironic.

I'm pretty glad it got mediocre scores, means it'll be in the bargain bin sooner rather than later and I can pick myself up a copy for £10-15. =D

1 - 70% shouldn't be a bad thing
2 - If this game was any more bland and average, it would taste like vanilla flavoured meat and potato.
3 - Contrary to popular belief, not all videogames are art. In the same way that not all movies are art.
4 - Fuck you. Go and study some Bioware games and maybe come up with an innovative "door opening button".

oh cry me a river, it's an overhyped mediocre game that only sells because the genre is hip nowadays. Can't apply math to art? Ever heard of Fibonacci's numbers boyo

I never look at Metacritic. I am not buying Homefront based on every person I've heard talking about it calling it a giant steaming pile of shit.

Hasn't it already been established that most of those sales were from preorders based on promises they never followed through on?

It wasn't until you nurfed the online play. Way to go in dumbing it down.
Nurfed? How.
To quote myself from before (guess you missed it):

I would give Homefront an 80, not great *cough*singleplayer*caugh*, but its still fun MP wise.

What did they do, exactly?
Probably easiest way to put it...
Prepatch - Like Call of Duty in hardcore mode
Postpatch - Like regular Call of Duty

Originally, people would die after a few bullets, but a lot of people complained. They nurfed the snipers (which were overpowered anyway), but they did something else that nurfed the rest of the guns. Not sure if it is lower damage or increased player health or what, but it isn't like it was prepatch.
That fine with me.It makes for better tactical play.
Although this game it probably shit anyway,so i'm gonna save up for something like battlefeild 3 or portal 2.

Understandable, but it ruined it for me. I grew up playing games online where you die after a few bullets, and on Call of Duty 4/5, all I ever played was hardcore mode. So, them nurfing it really ruined the fun I had with it the first week.

"A million units in a week on an original IP coming out of nowhere I think speaks a lot to the concept and the marketing of the game,"

Sure Bilson, the concept and marketing of Homefront will certainly catch the eyes of enough gamers to sell over 1 million copies. Just as poorly-scripted gameplay, extremely short sp, and a broken multi-player meta-game will garner a 71 on meta-critic. Its not like a 71 is bad either, and if your really proud of your product's initial success stop bitching about it THQ. I doubt people will continue to play this game in the coming months, despite the efforts to fix the multi-player.
