He should really stop crying about the Metascore and think more about what a bland, xenophobic, lowest common denominator title like Homefront might have done to deserve the score.

Developer: "Our generic Modern-era shooter is actually amazing and all the critics are wrong. Also it's art"

...right...

Games aren't art. SOME games are art.

I'm all for video games as an art form but if Homefront is considered art, then Burger King is gourmet food. I went into the game buying all of the marketing for it to that point and what I saw was a plot so generic that it was boring, villains so cardboard thin they were unrealistic, and the patriotic bravado was so force fed that it actually insulted me (I love my country but still) I was looking forward to something that would show what it was like to fight a guerrilla war against an occupying force, making all of my decisions count, not some linear, predictable and boring mess that only took 5 hours to beat.

THEYRE PUTTING MY PEOPLE IN A HOLE????? LET ME ENDANGER THE ENTIRE MISSION UP TO THIS POINT BECAUSE THE IDEA OF NON-CEREMONIAL BURIAL FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE ENRAGES ME! "Sir, we're killing our own with this phosphorous" "IT'S WAR LOL". Sigh. Most annoying story ever made.

"you can't apply math to art" he wouldnt be saying that if the game scored a 9.

But it just makes me think, well in terms of ART! your product is not as impressive as other products out there...in fact i would say it pretty average at best...maybe 2 points above the mid point on a 10 point scale.

"Do I prefer that it's controversial?
No, I'd prefer if everybody in the world loved it," he continued. "Do I read all (reviews) to see what we can do better next time and have every review be 100? Of course, our goal is always that."

Am I able to apparently have a conversation with myself ?
Yes, I am.
Does that conversation mostly consist of asking passive-aggresive rethorical questions that try to conceal the fact that some people thought our game was shit ?
Yes, I do.
Will I be ignoring everything I said in this interview the moment one of our games gets really good scores?
Fuck yes bitches.

God Homefront...that fucking game! The story was half-assed and the characters were shit, ESPECIALLY Connor! Seriously, Connor has got to be one of the dumbest most irritating characters ever! "No, let's head towards the civilians while being hunted by the fucking Korean army", and don't forget, "let's use white phosphorus, though we have no idea how to use it! Better yet, get the guy who looks like a crack addict to operate it!" Then he had to go through EVERY DOOR FIRST (besides that one part straight out of Black Ops) and whenever a character like Rhianna or Boone questioned the stupidness that was Connor Morgan, it went down like:
"Connor, this is stupid."
"Shut up."
"okay..."
There was only 1 character who I liked in this game: Goliath. He never said anything, he was actually pretty useful, and was overall badass! But then we have to blow him up (another of Connor's brilliant plans. "LET'S BLOW UP OUR ONLY TRUE GROUND WEAPON/VEHICLE!") And later, we had to fight Goliath's twin Korean brother. And the ending sucked! My God, Connor what was that? Sacrificing yourself as a hero? Ever hear of throwing! I think he actually killed us too! I don't know, that ending was shit! Worst game in a long time. -__-
Wow,you read the comic?

That's what happens when you flood the market with FPS games with an overemphasis on online than the actual single player.

But not to worry so long as Microsoft has money to through at developers to withhold content from PS3 owners, the gaming industry will stay afloat and continue to pump out sub-par, generic crap with a few gems in between.

Homefront IS ART.

But you totally can and should judge art. You should judge everything in fact.

Desperate ploy at pushing more sales, I say yes.

glad they made money off of it. Too bad it won't get any of mine until after its on a 75% sale on steam. The reason i finally picked up the cash-in Bioshock2 for $5. XD

70 from Metacritic users thats damn good, considering DA2 got 30's from those said users. XD

What can I say? They did a very good job of getting the word about Homefront "out there"; I was certainly more than aware of the game's existence and what they were hoping to do with it and so on. It's just that when all was said and done, even before the reviews, it didn't sound like the kind of experience that I was going to want to play-- or, at least, not the kind of experience I was going to want to play $50 or more for the experience of playing just out of the gate. The flaws and foibles of a $50 game are a lot more forgivable in a $10 Steam-sale "sure, why not" purchase.

I don't wish THQ or the franchise ill, it's just not the kind of thing that caused me to desperately want to send a "Yes, God yes, make more like this!" message with my money.

Homefront had a poor campaign, with bad writing and crap characters, i dind't bother with the multiplayer,it's subject matter alone doesn't make it good. And no those sale figures aren't impressive for an FPS set in modern/near-modern times.
Get over yourselves THQ.

Horrible, horrible, dreadful single player experience. I can not overstate this point. I loath Homefront's campaign!
