Well, this will either go amazingly well, or crash and burn terribly. I am certainly hoping for the first of those, as I love TS, but I am not going to hold my breath.

Though to me, No Split-screen and No Campaign will pretty much remove everything that I loved about TS. I know it had online multiplayer, but I never used it - and never even had the necessary network adaptor in my PS2. I really enjoyed the campaign, and the splitscreen was absolutely great for when you had friends around so... yea... they're saying it will be 'just like TS of old' (or words to that effect), but actually they're removing two-thirds of the game experience, and for that matter, the two-thirds that I would actually want to play. Also, no mention of the Mapmaker I see...

As I said, no breath holding here.

I will definately get it. TimeSplitters is one of the best game series of all time and I really hope this does well and gives Crytek a clue that TimeSplitters still has a following.

This is brilliant. First I hear they're bringing Whose Line back, now this!
I at least hope that, if they don't eventually add a campaign, they at least add a few of the more loved campaign missions like Neo-Tokyo and Siberia. If they've programmed in bots, it's probably not that hard to throw in some missions from 1 and 2.

Also, while there are no mentions of a mapmaker, remember that this is on PC. I'm sure there'll be a way to create and play custom maps without the classic mapmaker being in the game - and what with it being on PC, the mapmaking can be a lot more sophisticed and creative.

I hope that someday they add a campaign, not like the one of the third game, it was a great story but I can see how that would be hard to do with all the voice acting and writting, but one like the second game where there is barelly a story and voice acting would be great. Siberia is still one of the best levels of the series.

Also TS:FP wrapped up things nicelly, it would be cool if it was like a prequel with another time traveller.

But yeah, keep the multiplayer a priority here and keep the challenges since they really add up to the longevity and variety of the game.

i can't wait, hopefully there will either be lots and lots of bots, with lots of players, i love how frantic the multiplayer was, oh the power ups how i have missed thee, i used to spawn oil a lot buy using the invisibility power up in the enemy teams base, or use the sniper rifle to get head shots one after another, i used to be boss with that...

I wish that I could go and bake the developers a cake. I'm so damn happy that I signed that petition.

Good for Crytek. I'd love to see more publishers with dormant IPs taking such an approach to their properties, even if they chose to charge for the results.

Looks like Ty was a bit less obscure on this site than I thought.

It sort of shames Square Enix for that whole affair with the Chrono Trigger 3D fan project.

Hell yes! Also, balls. I loved the campaign! Well, hopefully it introduces a lot of new fans to the series, and Crytek will actually make a full new game.

I was unbelievably excited until I actually read what they're making. The only parts of the game that I really care about are the campaigns and the amazing map editor. It doesn't sound like they're recreating the map editor...
They already said that the map editor will be the CryEngine 3 Sandbox, wich kind of makes sense. Its harder to use then the typical Timesplitters map editor but its a lot more indepth

I remember there being a bunch of coop modes in timesplitters 2, though admittedly its been a long time since ive played.

Ok maybe its a bit of an exageration to make a fuss about that, its a minor thing compared to the campaign.

Don't get me wrong though, im grateful for the return of timesplitters multi, especially if they keep the silky smooth framerate and overall smooth feeling and crisp esthetics the series had, but put yourself in my shoes...
How am i going to convince most of my current gaming crew, pc heads who have nothing but disdain for consoles and games on them (a sadly common attitude) to give a console fps a shot? Campaign makes for a nice carrot in that i can at least go "theres coop!" and then, once they see why timesplitters is so amazing, they graduate to the multiplayer :)

Oh sod it, screw my friends. Im sure therell be enough likeminded timesplitter fans to keep me company ^^

I do hope the map editor music soundtrack will make an appearance then. Timesplitters had great music and a fair amount of those awesome tunes were hidden in the map editor to use with player made levels.

No campaign no buy.
ok, first its free and second they are focusing on the mulptiplayer and challenges first as thats what the majority of fans wanted. they haven't ruled out the campaign, they are leaving out until they get the multiplayer out of the way so they can focus on the campaign afterwards as it would take a lot longer (look at black masa and theats ONLY single player).

just the 300+ character models alone is a big task.

My gripe is mostly if they make it for sell or something like it I wont touch it, I enjoyed TS for the SP stuff it was hard at times and funny.

Even a F2P online shooter means nothing to me, you want to get my attention do a single player, you want my money make it great..
