The idea of constructive criticism has been sadly missed lately when it comes to things such as repeat threads and instead attacks have ensued. What you just mentioned is exactly the sort of things we need to be considering as a community in order to improve it.

Hehe, Your making me blush. All it really takes is the desire for change. Once one person starts it, others will slowly begin to follow. If anyone in this thread looks into this matter and comes out with a positive attitude and a true desire for positive change, then I strongly believe we can make this one of the best forums in regrades to gaming and possible real issues.

=P I went back and put bold on some words in my posts hoping some more people will see them and read it instead of ghosting over them. That's really all I can do right now while people argue and debate over matters. Makes me want to rewrite this whole thread and highlight the Good that's come out of these discussions... but I fear I might get slandered for repeat threads. ^.~

Firstly, nice dodging your ragequit. I was there and you were extremely rude to Xitel who had just joined in. You owe him an apology in my eyes.

Secondly, you still sound like a douche. You're saying that your 'help' is A) needed and B) valid, secondly, you're grouping all of the 'new' members together and implying that they need help, and, moreover that you're the person to give them help. That's a bit pretentious and I can understand them being a bit 'rude'.

Firstly, I feel I was less rude to xitel then he was to me, for chris' sake, Dirk, he told me to go to /b/, that's pretty much the worst insult you can use on The Escapist.

Secondly, I still feel my help is needed and valid. I may have sounded Condescending, but not like a douche, in my opinion.

No, he didn't. Richard did, and you blew up on Xitel. Well, you insulted him and ragequit. And, no, it's not. Stop stereotyping another forum. Remember what happened the last time we got overenthusiastic about /b/? Yeah. Stop insulting them because you don't like their style and want to feel superior. It's just another forum on the internet. It's the ass end of anything, and it's not the worst anything. Stop it.

You are being a douche, and just because you think your help is needed, doesn't mean they think it, and since there is more of them than there is of you, you can see why you're coming across as an ass.

If I didn't come across that way, then I have to apologize as well. I did not mean to insult you, merely make a statement about a general mood that's been arising in several members. So I accept your apology, and I apologize as well.

Wait, you don't even want to respond to the original questions? We're looking towards experienced members such as yourself in order to help give us ideas to help maintain the integrity of this site.

Hehe, silliness is needed at times.
If you think about it, your absolutely correct. The whole thing is, "These people are wrong and we NEED to correct them. Violently." People have serious issues with others who can't express themselves in the same manner they do. The people who got straight A's in English have issues with those who didn't [Like me, oddly enough]. These people are deemed "Problems that MUST be fixed."
There is no problem, just different people.

I have posted a couple threads with info to help keep the community strong.
And you know what happens? The people who made the community such a great place agree with me, then start posting less and less, while newer members just say fuck it to any semblance of decency or rules.
Repeat topics run amok, "bannhammerxorz" and "inb4tehlokz" posts run wild, and everyone starts seeing things as Jim Doki does. And then another thread like this comes around, and it is staved off for another week.

Sadly, you're right. However, as I ranted before, it's really us that are degenerating the site with our inaction and lack of ideas to form new topics. People are running out of originality as more threads are made, but everyone also wants a cheap shot at a badge. Maybe we should get together and collectively spam out the bad topics with good ones? Just a thought.

However, my main qualms today are with the current methods of moderation. Here is a quote from Ultrajoe, depicting my thoughts on the mattter of moderation recently:

Not to burst the feeling of love, but seen over an extended period of time the escapist is becoming steadily more lenient. I can only imagine Joe the Moderators mustache curling back in righteous fury with one look at what now fills Gaming Discussion. That would not be a good day to step out of line.

Seriously, as the days go by, I think more and more that it's high time for The Second Coming of Joe.
