Toonami, the program block that ruled 11 years of my life, is coming back?!

Side note: Glad to see a few people that still remember Megas XLR, and also, yes it would be awesome to see it get back in the line-up, even though it would just be re-runs. :D

As beautiful as this is, I do kinda wonder what'll happen to the absolutely fabulous folks over at Toonami Aftermath. It's kinda sad to see such a hardworking bunch just kinda disappear after holding the torch for so long...

Plus, I kinda liked their line up that included anime as well as MST3K and Rifftrax. Conflicting emotions are rough...

Oh dear sweet god, if they brought over Rifftrax for a Friday Movie Night thing, I would shit my pants with joy.

WITH JOY!

I REALLY hope it's coming back to the UK too. It'd be great to finally have a channel to watch anime on again.

Adult Swim those atrocities of those new live-action shows you keep coming out with have been forgiven!

Long live Tom! WE. DIG. GIANT ROBOTS.

Like I said before, reaire Megas XLR.

DO IT CN, DO IT NOW! And Reboot and G Gundam.
I actually heard the reason Megas got canned was because CN was doing a health kick because "TV childhood obesity [sub]maybe you should parent your kids[/sub]" and Coop is a super obese guy who seems almost proud of it. Perish the thought that was the joke though considering he's essentially a super hero.

If that's true then the people behind that need a good kick to the balls. Yeah, sure, it's important to promote good habits...but not everyone has said good habits, and kicking off a show just because the main character likes to be fat is the stupidest reason to cancel it. Especially since it kind of promotes the, "Be proud of who you are," message that seems to be more and more faded these days.

OT: Holy shit, Toonami! Awesome! I missed out on it when I was a kid because it would air when I got home from shool and homework would keep me away. Afterward, they just kind of started airing Naruto, and I was never really a big fan of that...So, yeah, kick ass, I can't wait to see what's on it! :D

I never watched Toonami and I likely never will, but just for the people who did enjoy watching the block during their childhoods:

I'd be much more excited if I didn't know deep down that CN is going to fuck it up somehow.

I honestly don't get what all the fuss is about. Sure, it was great when you were a kid but how hard is it for us to find streaming episodes of the shows we want to watch? Why deal with commercials aiming at children to watch censored episodes of the same shows?

I liked Coop. Hell after that show aired the next time someone called me a fat name I just said. "And I'll still probably end up in a giant robot before you." They didn't get it but it made me feel good.

What was the reason Toonami was cancelled in the first place? I heard it was because of waning audiences. If that's true, I don't think it will be around for that long this time.

When I heard yesterday... my boner tore a hole into another dimension where Toonami was never cancelled.

By the nine rings of Hell and all those who so stand above them...

This had better do well, or I'm fire bombing some buildings.(but it is okay, I live near Detroit so I'll use some of there abandoned buildings.)

Um, cool...I guess?

Hearing about the return of Toonami does invoke some nostalgia. Zoids, Megas XLR, IGPX, etc.; good times. However, I'm no fan of the current cartoon network line-up. I'm just wondering if the new Toonami will be more of the same.

I just beat Deus Ex Human Revolution on the hardest difficulty, got the Collector's Edition of Diablo 3 and now I hear Toonami is coming back. Life is good my friends.

It was cancelled because Cartoon Network's president got fired over the Boston bomb scare, which was an Aquateen Hungerforce promotion that the locals mistook for a bunch of bombs. The replacement hated cartoons in general and anime in particular, which is why Toonami got cancelled and also where all those live action shows they tried came from.

OT: I'm glad this is happening. The weird thing is this thread is getting the kind of response I was expecting when I posted about it yesterday. I must have had bad timing, because the responses were a lot more subdued and it died pretty quickly.
