Oblivion: My first Xbox 360 game, and in general my first real Next gen game. I picked it up at my sister-in-law's house and I was mesmerized. I have never felt such addicted qualities in a game my entire life. I'm almost afraid to play my copy because I want to keep the happy feeling I had in that game.

Call of Duty 4: The greatest feeling shooter out there. In all honesty, it was perfect. The single player was a damn good bit of fun, the extra little unlockable things were the overlooked Gem of that game (seriously guys, play it with Slow Motion on/off thing on. It is an entirely new game), And for the better (or worse) got me really considering first person shooters. It eventually led me to a love hate relationship I now have with FPS multiplayers.

MineCraft: I'm on a bit of a Hiatus with that game right now, but I always find something fun to do in that game. Lost hours not doing anything but making quarries of stone and listening to Podcasts. And it also makes me wish I was more creative and had more patience (so I could finish that Giant man Statue throwing up lava/Monster trap/Minecart system/Sand Castle)

Edit:
Honorable Mention goes to Halo 1. My absolute first online mutlpayer. I was completely absorbed and completely terrible at it.

In no particular order:

Mass Effect: This game was the reason I bought an Xbox 360, and I loved every part of it (even the Mako and the elevator).

Warcraft III: Still holds the record for holding my attention longest, and showed me how great user-generated content can be.

Pokemon: Because who doesn't break out the old cartridges or start up an emulator and still find the same enjoyment when charmander evolves that you always did.

1. Jet Set Radio Future

Can't decide what the other two should be since I love most if not all my games.

1. Megaman 2, The one game that could make you rage at nothing but accidentally pressing jump to soon.

2. Dead Space, See explanation of 3

3. Amnesia The Dark Descent, I've always had a place in my heart for horror games, and after playing through that I've never felt more satisfied in all ways, story twist, jump factor, upgradeable, playing the bad ass. All perfect.

World of Warcraft- It has so many people for a reason. I have played it and have had hours of fun with even the most monotonous of tasks.
Dragon Age Origins- I love fantasy, so it's awesome.
Mass Effect- Just awesome.

First thing on escapist :D

Anyway,

3. Gmod, it's hardly a game but I can drive a bathtub so sue me.

2. Minecraft, it's damn original, I can shoot cake at skeletons thanks to the recent update.

1. Team Fortress 2, after you get over the sheer amount of desert you can focus on smashing people's faces with a candy cane while your team-mates wear cardboard faces and piss off texans. And it's piss cheap.

So yeah...

Zone of the Enders 2 (Kojima needs to make a third)
Fallout 3
Beyond Good and Evil (Needs a sequel :D)

If I could pick one more it would be Borderlands or Diablo 2 Co-Op

In no particular order:
Chrono Trigger - the only JRPG I ever enjoyed, it takes every cliche and mashes them into an amazing game far greater than the sum of its parts. It also conveys an incredible sense of scale; watching the end of the world then setting out to stop it makes for a rather memorable tale.
Mass Effect 2 - if every sequel was this good, I wouldn't have to treat the number "2" as the harbinger of doom. If every shooter-RPG hybrid was this good, well, that would be...good.
Portal - short, sweet and incredibly memorable. There's a reason the game spawned so many memes.

As a runner-up, New Vegas for letting me hoard 650 pounds of weapons and shove them into a cracked wardrobe.

1. Guitar Hero 3. My word I have never put so much blood, sweat and tears into a game. It hurt me in so many ways but when I finally completed guitar hero 3 on expert I had never experienced such a sense of achievement before

2. Hogs of War. Ever herd of it? No, I'm not surprised but to anyone who has played it knows how much fun it was to fight other pigs in massively varied maps with some really addictive gameplay and creative weapons. I miss that game so much and there was never a sequel :/

3. Spyro The Dragon. I have played this game so many times and I can now complete the game to 100% under 3 hours. I don't know why but I love the beauty of the worlds, the simplicity of it all and just how everything is designed. It all feels like a beautiful mystical world rather than a map designed by a business group like they are these days

1. Deus Ex... the first game I played that was more than just a cloud of 1's and 0's... it felt like an actual world and was reinforced by the excellent balance of RPG and action and it's superb level design that encourages thinking outside the box and using your different skill sets to accomplish your goal...

2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl... it creates an absolutely magnificent world... equal parts grim, unforgiving and beautiful... sure the story is crap but it makes up for that with just how well made and compelling the world is... not to mention the well implemented game mechanics, like the health system and damage system that add a lot to the gameplay and face crushing difficulty...

3. No More Heroes... The gameplay is repetitive, the open world is boring and it's on the WII but No More Heroes is an absolute blast... it's witty and hilarious and stands as both a great action game and a great parody of action games...

1. Pokémon Blue. My first ever handheld game, and I still play and replay it today.

2. Freelancer. I used to sit through school in a daze waiting to get home so I could play some more. XD Also hardest final boss fight ever, much? I think I'd last an average of a minute before those damn missiles would take me out. :|

3. Unreal Tournament. When I was a kid mine and Dad's computers were networked so we could play against one another. It was awesome. Mainly because we'd be so busy trying to kill one another, the bots would get to us instead. :>

As incredibly hard as it is to just choose three games, I think I'll have to go with:

1. The Monkey Island series
2. Grim Fandango
3. Beyond Good & Evil
