1. Final Fantasy IX.

There's not a single character in it I don't love. The music is some of the best I've heard. The plot is great. There's just everything great about it. And I can never not have fun while playing it.

2. Fallout 3.

I've played it a lot by now, and made several characters in it. I can't stop having fun in it, though I don't like being mean in it verbally...

3. Silent Hill 3.

The only horror game to actually get me scared. I love it to death, though slightly less than FF IX or Fallout 3.

Half-Life
Baldur's Gate
System Shock 2

Mainly because they're the first games I've ever played: they made me get closer to this medium and give me a glimpse of what videogames can be in terms of storytelling and immersion(this one in a level that other forms of entertainment can't reach).
I don't have a precise numeric order: honorable mentions go to Silent Hill 2, Half-Life 2 and Bioshock.

1) Deus Ex (THE best game so far in the last two millenias).
2) Icewind Dale series ( i played it a lot, and felt it had a lot more flavor. But it lacked Baldur Gate's non-linearity).
3) Duke Nukem 3d (my first FPS).

Ocarina of Time
Uncharted 2
TF2

In no particular order and subject to change.
I don't even like TF2 anymore, Mass Effect 1 might take its place.

The Legend of Zelda Series (I know that doesn't count as one game, but if you remove the nostalgia factor, they are all as fantastic as each other [Majora's Mask was the most creative/original however, even though it copied a lot of Ocarina of Time]).

Monkey Island 2 (the whole series is awesome [though I haven't played no.5], but MI2 is probably the best one out of them [then the order goes 3, 1, 4])

So many choices for the last spot, but just so that I'm not stuck here forever deciding, I'll just say Thief: Deadly Shadows :)

Honourable mentions: Grim Fandango, TF2, Timesplitters 2, Simon the Sorceror I + II, Super Smash Bros. Melée, Left 4 Dead 2... OK, I'll stop now... :( haha

Jagged Alliance 2. There is a genre, a small genre, but a genre none the less, called Squad Level Turn Based Strategy. Jagged Alliance 2 is the pinnacle of that genre.

Sid Meier's Pirates!. The first sand-box game. The GTA series owes a lot to Pirates! No really. Anyway I was obsessed with Pirates! for about three years it was played on my trusty commodore 64 at least one a week.

Civ II. It could have been any of the Civs really but it was II that first destroyed my life with one more turn...

Honourable mentions to Gauntlet, Crimson Skies, and the two NOLF games.

EDIT: OK Elite may have been first in 1984, Pirates! was only 1987 damn it it was still pretty early.

1: Rock Band 2. I have lost track of how much time I have spent playing it and would still be playing it today if it wasn't for the fact that Rock Band 3 came out.

2: Quake 3. Just sends me back to wasting my lunchtimes in the computer room playing this incredible game

3: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. In my eyes the best 2D sidescroller ever even though i'm talking with rose tinted glasses because it was the first game I remember playing and unlike all of the other 2.5D sidescrollers it actually uses the 3D plain in some interesting ways.

This is a good topic, unlike all the others in the hot box.
My top games, in no real order:
1. Unreal Tournament 2004, I never even played the actual game, i played assualt on the demo on a single map. I would play it for hours and hours. The bots were amazing. I recently tried redownloading the demo, but Firefox is a hater for me downloading lately.

2. Minecraft, doesn't need an explanation.

3. Spore, for all the hate the game got, it is still something innovative andworth some loving.

As far as playtime, it would have to be:

1) Phantasy Star Online
2) Chrono Trigger
3) Dragon Quest Monsters

But as far as my favorite experiences, I'd go with:

1) Chrono Trigger
2) Persona 4
3) Mass Effect
