1. Earthbound (defined my childhood)

2. Link to the Past

3. Braid

The first two I am sure of but choosing a third was really tough. I will never forget Braid.

3- Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo 64)
One of my favorite fighter games. And while Brawl will fill the void since I no longer own a 64, I've always preferred Melee. It was a part of my childhood.

2- Assassin's Creed series (Xbox 360)
I couldn't choose just one of them; they're all pretty good in their own ways. The first AC was the more challenging of the three, and personally I just like Altair better than Ezio. AC 2 took you throughout Italy, which of course, is awesome, since I want to go there someday. As for AC Bro, the gameplay and effects have improved astoundingly, and Desmond's bits are actually sort of interesting for once.

1- Kingdom Hearts 2 (PS2)
The ending is very, very cool, but throughout the whole game, Sora's just developed so much more, and there are so many cool new keyblades and worlds. It's just a RPG that I really love, since Disney and Square Enix collide. :D

Ouch. Top 3? Of ALL TIME?!

1) Myst series. (If you make me break it down, then three Myst games will be my answer; assuming I can just say Series and be done with it, then:)
2) Fallout: New Vegas
3) Syberia

Here are my top three games.

Super Mario Bros 3. It is one of the best Platformers ever made.

Dead Rising 2. Probably one of the funnest games I have played and my favorite game from last year.

Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. One of the two Zelda games I have beaten, and the one I enjoyed the most.

Other games that would be honorable mentions are Battlefield 2142, Uncharted, Fallout New Vegas, and Left 4 Dead 2.

allright... never really thought about this, but I think it would be like this...

1. Dragon Age, all of it.
2. SW: KOTOR, both of them.
3. Dynasty Warriors, and the spinoffs :)

I think that's right.

Let's see...

1. Tie between Kingdom Hearts 1/2. Best game series ever, the sequals/prequal are amazing too.

2. Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Only Zelda game I've ever beaten.

3. Fallout 3. I think you can figure this one out for yourself.

Starfox 64- Because it was my first game ever.

COD 4- The sheet amount of time I spent on that game is rediculous.

Bioshock- The atmosphere and presentation were astounding. I felt every emotion possible while playing that game.

Honorable mentions go to Halo CE, Assassin's Creed series, Splinter Cell series, Ocarina of Time, The Darkness, and Gears of War.

1. Legacy of Kain series- THE best storyline I've ever seen, with great characters and, again, awe-inspiring plot.
2. Planescape Torment- another brilliant story, with genious semi-filosophical quotes
3. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer: loved it so much because of it's similarity with PS:T, surely one of the best expansion packs ever made.

Honourable mention: Deus Ex
Yep, I'm a sucker for deep, smart games. My hears hurts when I see other posts having Diablo or Call of Duty's...

The games that made my childhood:

1 - Super Mario Brothers 3
2 - Super Castlevania 4
3 - Super Bomberman 4 (although I like 3 so much!)

Yes, I had an SNES and I'm very biased, but I can't help it. They're so much fun! Also, I didn't grow up with Zelda, so it doesn't make my list.

That's a hard one..

1: Terranigma (SNES), this game is as perfect as it can get, at least for me. I sill play it at least once a year, for 14 years now. And there is nothing under the sun that will change this.

From here I have around a dozen titles that are close together. But if I had to choose it would be...

2: Medieval II: Total War (PC), You don't want to know how much time I sinked into this game.

3: Call of Duty 2/ half-life 2 (PC), Call of duty had the tighter atmosphere, but Half-life the better experience.

But again, there are just too many nominees, even a top 10 would be hard.

Wow, evil person, making me narrow it down to just 3.
I read all previous posts for good measure. I have to say, Escapist, you've got good taste.
I do see a lot of honourable mentions, so I'll start with ones that didn't make the cut:

World of Warcraft: for sheer play-time, it has to be a nominee. So much to do, so much to see.
Simcity 4: I can achieve amazing states of bliss while playing games like this. I've spent hours building stuff, just to put it on pause, zoom out, and enjoy.
Rollercoaster Tycoon (1): See simcity
Telltale's Sam & Max series: No other game series has managed more laughs per minute for me than this. It almost made the top 3, if it wasn't for the next titles:

Top 3:

3: Ratchet & Clank series: I can't pick a favourite, the entire series is just guns guns guns. And I love that.

2: Mass Effect 2: The link from ME1 to ME2, using the savegame to deepen gameplay is marvellous, the story is wonderful. And the best part? It's not over yet.

1: Transport Tycoon Deluxe! No game has sucked away more time, and I still suck at it. But the enjoyment of the ka-ching when a train enters the station, I will treasure forever.

-edit- Oops, forgot to honourable-mention Psychonauts
