1. There Will Be Blood. I dont need to explain myself. Its just that good.

2. Taxi Driver. Again, for obvious reasons.

3. True Grit. The acting is great, it is side crackingly funny in places, the story is a simple but nice one, and the end made be cry like a baby.

4. Das Boot Directors Cut. Each time I get up after watching it I am for some reason covered in blood, sweat and motor oil even though I never left the couch. It is INTENSE. If you ever want to get rid of someone, just give em a cup of coffee and make them watch this movie. Heart attack inbound.

5. The Big Lebowski. Because this aggression will not stand, man. All I wanted was a new rug, and I ended up with this movie.

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer the DC or the miniseries? Also, fuck me, that ending leaves me incapable of speech...(!) I mean seriously, when I finished watching it for the first time, I couldn't talk for about an hour, I was in a state of (mild) shock!

Fantasia (1940) - Most creative animation I've ever seen, covers a lot of genre's, inspired me to get into drawing and classical music.

Don't you just love 'the Soundtrack'... and when you watch 'Night on a Bare Mountain' as a six year old, it sure creeps you out...

1: The Princess Bride - I don't care what people say, this movie has it all. Comedy, action, great characters, drama, romance, well cheesy romance, but the whole movie is cheese to a good extreme.

5: Napoleon Dynamite. Gets better every time I watch it.
4: Flåklypa Grand Prix. First movie I ever saw. Funny, enjoyable and 100% animatronics-stop motion.
3: It´s a tie! Dracula (1931) and Nosferatu (1922) I love old movies, but I could not make up my mind on which of theese I like the most.
2: The Trollhunter. I laughed my breath away when I saw this on the premiere. Saw it later and laughed just as good.
1: Ed Wood. I searched far and wide for this movie for about 1 year, before I finally found it. Love it <3

There is a lot of movies that I want to say belong here but I can't fit all of them. I'm already cheating as it is.

The whole segment makes me grin, because it starts with the Soundtrack being all nervous and shy, and the first 'sound' it gives almost makes it sound petulant (like blowing a raspberry).

I think you're right, it is 'Bald Mountain'. My favourite bit is actually the Stokowski Transciption of the Toccata and Fugue... though to be fair, they're all brilliant. Don't get cartoons like that these days! *nostalgic sigh* ...!!

I knew I forgot something (haven't seen it for a year ). Toccata and Fugue was my other favourite cause I just love abstract/art house stuff. I just remember the musicians in the coloured lights, the composer in front of the big red circle and the light coming down near the end. Guess I need to watch it again.

Haven't seen it in... gawd, years, I actually watched Fantasia 2000 more recently (gotta love Rhapsody in Blue, and the Beethoven! good grief, flying whales!).

Toccata and Fugue was my other favourite cause I just love abstract/art house stuff. I just remember the musicians in the coloured lights, the composer in front of the big red circle and the light coming down near the end.

Yeah, that was the Toccata. With the whole piece being what I call 'intellectual' as opposed to 'aesthetic' or 'emotive', there's very little you can draw from it imagination-wise, so to emphasize the abstract nature of the piece, they highlighted the players, which was simple, yet quite clever. The Fugue was a bit trippy at times though!

Guess I need to watch it again.

4. The 7 faces of Doctor Lao. A funny, heartwarming film about magic.
3. 2001: A space oddysey. It's just so much fun to watch!
2. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Epic... just epic.
1. Metropolis. What a film! Just watching the visuals alone is enough to make everybody in the room go silent.

In no particular order.

1. Clerks - I love this movie and I can watch it again and again and again without getting bored.

2. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Good action parts and I love middle parts of movies. Also, I told the girl (who's now my girlfriend) that I was in love with her while watching this.

3. MacBeth--Roman Polanski version - Just an amazing movie. My English teacher watched it with me, actually. It got me into Shakespeare and, well, writing.

4. Chasing Amy - Probably my actual second favorite movie (after Clerks); it's just so weird and messed up that it has it's charm, and that argument scene in the rain is great.

5. Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back - The middle part. Luke meets Yoda, and Darth Vader hasn't taken off his helmet yet; also, Han Solo gets frozen.
