It's alright, not quite as good as it used to be though. Clarkson is a twat too.

Also, I'm not the only one who finds the Clarkson avatar terrfying am I?

I don't hate it, but I don't enjoy it as much as I did. There are other, much better programs on the TV.
Yea. I dig it but just not as much as I loved Junkyard Wars/Scrapyard Challenge.
Still BBC America still has one of the best news shows in America.

I appreciate Shakespeare not being recognised in his own time, however Clarkson lives in the present, unless I am much mistaken. He must surely know Shakespeare's influence on modern English, lest he be naive and ignorant, which may be possible?

And as for him being a nice guy, how do you know that?
As you said, his TV persona is completely scripted.
He bought one of the cars for a cheap car challenge off my uncle

Love Top Gear... hate Jeremy Clarkson. The guy is a tool. Funny to watch, but ultimately a tool.

That and I find myself skipping to the end of shows these days. Since the discussion of cars doesn't interest me very much and I much rather like to see the challenges and the demonstrations of the cars- where the entertainment is

I LOVE Top Gear, especially James May, and since I'm Norwegian, I think his accent is far more awesome than for example Jeremy's.

Though you gotta love Jeremy Clarkson, the most unpractical man on the planet, and most of the time, his Hammond-jokes are pretty hilarious.

Anyone who've seen ANY of their "cheap car-challenges" like driving across Botswana, through the Amazon Jungle and Bolivia.

People that say that Top Gear is bad, not funny etc. Just don't have the genuine sense of humour that Top Gear requires :)

I find it painful to watch. They don't even talk about cars anymore for more than about five minutes, then spend the other fifty-five having competitions so Jeremy Clarkson can pretend to be surprised when he loses.

But then, I don't care about cars that much, so really it's just three middle aged men sitting around in an aircraft hangar talking about stuff that doesn't interest me.

It just looks pretty much exactly like this to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR1ShG4DnTM

Personally I still love it for what it is; three fat blokes cocking about and never growing up!. As for the others, well..people will always complain about something because they can. And as Yahtzee said, "fans are whiny, annoying, dipshits and nothing you can do will ever please them".

Quite appropoe I think!.
Yes.

Also; appropriate.
Also; you mis-spelled apropos.

I'm a real Top Gear fanboy :p

Oh right, almost forgot.
Am I the only person in here that reminds the "proper" review they did, where Jeremy eventually drives his car among the navi with a beach assault? Btw, Jeremy is the best presentor from Top Gear.

Of course the show is slowly dying..a bit due to the recession , a bit due to the fact that it's getting old , but it deserves respect. These guys have done some amazing things and have made me laugh like no other show did .
It's one of my favourite shows and I'll always keep some dvd's with old episodes for when it's time will come.

The last few series have been getting weaker, but it's still one of the best shows on TV.

Any show that can create it own Chuck Norris and get away with it has to be respected to a certain degree.

Until I realised what a pompous, self righteous ass Jeremy Clarkson is.
An add for his book stated "Shakespeare? I'd rather stick pencils in my eyes"

Please do.
And try appreciating a master of the language you speak, you jack ass.
Please Shakespeare is boring and acknowledging that he is a master is very different from actually having to sit through one of his plays. Your reaction at the failure to see that is the exact thing that Clarkson's comments are designed to generate.

As for Top Gear, well the regular reviews vary very widely in how good they are and aren't. The comparative reviews are generally much better than the single car reviews Subuaru vs Mitsubishi BMW vs Golf R32, unless they are doing something amazingly stupidly original like that Lexus in the last episode which PS since Lexus is a division of Toyota they HAVE already made a super car, the Supra.

The truly epic stuff comes from the massive specials and the overall averageness of this series was made up for several times over by the frankly spectacular Boliva special, Mind you saying that the last episode was easily the worst yet, the whole running out of money and trying to stretch the content was funny right up until it actually did feel like that was what they were doing and the guest star they had (who the f*ck was he anyway) finally showed that Star In The Reasonably Priced Car has had it's day, although now that the BBC has lost Jonathan Ross that section may be the only talk show of any kind the BBC has.

End of the day even the worst episodes of Top Gear are still better than the best of everything else that is on TV the show just needs a small tweak here and there to refresh it a bit.
