Well, we all know the masses are morons. Seriously though Wii Play?

It is a little surprising that not even a single (non-kart)Super Mario game ended up on the Top Ten sellers list. For that matter, I'd have expected a few more sports games and first person shooters on the list.
Do most of those things sell from used game shops? Maybe they are right to worry about them impacting sales, after all.

The list doesn't include PC games and the console versions just don't move very many units.

NNNOOOO, Law and Order is awesome! Even without the original detectives (RIP Jerry Orbach), the new guys are pretty good.

Anywho, on topic, I'm alittle surprised that so many of those games seem to have been created less than 3 years ago.

Of the entire list, the only games I had were the MW ones. I only owned MW2 for a grand total of about 18 hours but unfortunately I still contributed to that list, albeit slightly.

How can they include wii play when it is bundled with every single Nintendo Wii that is sold?!? No one (or very few) people ACTUALLY bought the game, they bought a platform and got a free game with it.

Publishers read this list and we'll get even more generic shooters and casual games and less games we like.

With ten years as a fulltime professional writer under my belt, including running two magazines and being accountable for journalism standards in them, I find the headline, opening line, and second line of the article all contradict each other. I read the article, checked the sources, and also know a little about how videogame sales stats are generated and manipulated. The errors are minor but they'd be caught in a tight newsroom: The Escapist does make a lot of noise about holding themselves to a higher standard than the tweener gaming sites...
