All his videos are permanently backed-up on his hard drive(s), don't worry. If he wants people to see the video then he WILL put it up somewhere or the other. This is TB we're talking about, when the man needs to get a message out nobody can stop him. Incidents like these only make him 10x more determinedlikalaruku said:The fact that Youtube says I cannot watch them makes me want to see them even more.
Oh Cynical Brit...when will you ever learn to back up your videos on multiple sites, like Blip?
Looks like they'll reach an agreement soon.... maybe?Yuuki said:Just browsing TB's channel, no video from him on this fiasco yet. Most of his followers are still largely unaware of what's going on.
This shit will only truly go nuclear once he releases a video about it like what happened with Gary's Incident. Then we'll see what FUN has to say.
thisCaptainMarvelous said:So, outside observer, you appear to be scrabbling for the intellectual high-ground after being thoroughly shotdown by the Kangaroo gentleman. They even attempted to engage you seriously by saying "I have given examples of games with good stealth, please give some with ones worse than or equal to Guise of the Wolf" and the most insulting or immature thing they've done is say they doubt you've played many stealth games because the statement sounds so outlandish (e.g. Bubsy 3D isn't that bad, just about no platformer has good platforming) it sounds as though you were making a blanket statement and then attempting to defend it by saying you meant more than you did (it's only a caveat for when someone does prove you wrong) but that still means you need at least ONE example to prove your case. Given how (frankly) ignorant that statement sounds they had every right to question your authority and you did not have one to accuse them of not reading (also noticing how in neither of these posts did you manage to counter-argue the point)Windcaler said:When you dont take the time to analyze whats been written I have every right to say you didnt use your brain when forming a counter argument and even now you continue this immature style of arguing. Im not going to be part of it. When you can act like an adult and form an intelligent and well thought out counter argument then Ill be happy to continue the discussion but not till then. Good dayNuclearKangaroo said:so you consider inexperience an insult? wow, im sorry if i offended you, you clearly had the right to imply i didnt "use your mind", so much for acting like an adult huh?
you saw the sound overlapping as a wereworld and at no point you thought "this is broken"?, or when TB walked straight through rocks and walls?
please explain how badly a game must fail to be broken and buggy
also, if you seriously think many stealth games have mechanics as broken as this, you have seriously not played many stealth games, atleast not good ones
i provided you with some examples, i dare you say those games have stealth mechanics on par with guise of the wolf
As it stands on the immature arguing front you have
"Statement" <- You
"Counter-argument with evidence (questioning of authority in making previous statement)" <-Kangaroo
"Ad hominem to the counter-arguers intelligence" <- You
"Continued argument and challenges"
"Refusal to argue, dismissal of opponent as incapable of arguing while simultaneously failing to refute any of 7 points they've raised"
It's not even an argument, you're just trying to call the other person stupid in a vain attempt to make your position seem more reasonable.
A MATURE counter-argument (rather than saying the opposition is illiterate) would have been citing Guise of the Wolf's plus points in terms of stealth, other games with poorly implemented stealth or just, y'know... defending the original statement. Or a retraction admitting you may have been wrong or mispoke. Instead you decided they must have read it wrong (and provided evidence for how no matter HOW you read it, the statement was at best ill-informed or at worst one-sided) and calling them stupid.
tl;dr, you're the immature one, If someone challenges you defend your statement or admit your fault, don't decide they're too stupid to be worth your time, if they misread it it's STILL your fault.
I feel like TB's not released a video on it on purpose. Maybe since this happened so soon after Day one garry's incident he thinks they're doing it for attention, he's made posts on twitter saying to send everything to his lawyer, so I'm thinking he doesn't want his viewers at large to see it.Yuuki said:Just browsing TB's channel, no video from him on this fiasco yet. combined with the fact that an opinion piece is protected (not american myself but i'm pretty sure it's there regardless) and that basically saying 'no you can't review this' and taking it down is so damning you may as well say 'yes it's a crappy product and i don't want anyone knowing that'the hidden eagle said:It's dishonest and fraudulent to not inform people about the pros and cons of a product. In fact there are several laws in the US that prevent what you're trying to argue for.krazykidd said:Actually you know what ? I get it. Why would i want a bunch of randomers talking about my games. Especially if it's a bad game or they are known to say bad things about their games. Sure it's free publicity, but only if the reviewer liked it. If the reviewer hated it, and is a popular figure, then it's bad for business. Yes it's a way to control information about their games , but i do believe only certain people should be allowed to " review" games not every tom, dick and harry with a camera ( i'm not saying that's what total biscuit is).Mangod said:So... Total Biscuit/Cynical Brit/John Bain posted two videos on YouTube not too long ago, a first impressions-video for Guise of the Wolf, and a recording of the research stream for the same game. Guess which videos have been hit by takedown notices?

... this is just unbelievable; do these people seriously not see how this kind of attempted censorship harms their product and reputation? And this isn't the first time, either; TB got hit with a takedown notice for his video on Day One: Garry's Incident as well when he blasted that game for being, pardon the language, utter garbage.
I can't wait to see how FUN Creators (yes, that's their name. FUN. I beg to differ) try to justify this, because I can't imagine this going over particularly well.
Captcha: third degree...
Well, I reckon FUN are gonna get burned by this.
Its not that i necessarily agree with the reasons for taking down/flagging videos. It's just that i understand where they are coming from.
Well usually whenever issues like this arise it's supposed to be the networks that handle it, so it's probably more that Maker Studios told TB that if another incident like Gary's Incident were to happen he should let the network handle it. Not going public about it for all of his fans to see also helps the lawyers I'd assume.mike1921 said:I feel like TB's not released a video on it on purpose. They're interfering with his job. It's not a "personal affront," he makes his living off his videos.TomWiley said:Oh bloody hell, like TB needed another reason to rant about his personal affronts. He is going to milk this for months.
If FUN hadn't acted unjustly he wouldn't have a reason to rant. It would have been just another crappy game he reviewed.TomWiley said:Oh bloody hell, like TB needed another reason to rant about his personal affronts. He is going to milk this for months.
Considering that the subject matter is barely a week old with no resolution as of yet(at least none that I've heard of).Reed Spacer said:Is this still a thing?
Can you guys step away from the equine corpse, drop your baseball bats and stop this being a thing?
Please?

TB's video is actually back up. Well, the WTF is one, anyway. The Let's NOT Play one is still down. FUN are still trying to play the victim.DapperStache said:Considering that the subject matter is barely a week old with no resolution as of yet(at least none that I've heard of).Reed Spacer said:Is this still a thing?

No.
As a side note someone was kind enough to re-up the video, and after having seen it I just have this to say: When the horse is a company blatantly censoring criticism for personal gain, I see no reason not to beat that horse into a red smear. I mean really it astounds me that FUN charged people money for that, let alone that its 15$(more elsewhere I'd imagine).
In conclusion, I take it by your post that you don't care to hear more of this, to which I have but to ask: If you're not interested in further discussion, then how about letting the people that are continue to do so? As oppose to snarkily requesting people to drop it for your sake.
Since pretty much every post now boils down to "These people are teh dumb," you're not so much 'discussing' the subject as 'coming up with new and exciting ways to say the same thing over and over.'DapperStache said:Considering that the subject matter is barely a week old with no resolution as of yet(at least none that I've heard of).Reed Spacer said:Is this still a thing?

I made a bit of a lengthier post in the other thread about this subject, but to sum up here: the lead dev most likely has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He isn't dumb, he's deluded. He thinks he's special, that his game is amazing, and that TotalBiscuit knows that it is an amazing game but was coerced into saying that it isn't. That's the best explanation I can come up with. Dunno if anyone else believes me though. "They're really thick" seems like the go-to guess for this kind of behavior.Reed Spacer said:Since pretty much every post now boils down to "These people are teh dumb," you're not so much 'discussing' the subject as 'coming up with new and exciting ways to say the same thing over and over.'DapperStache said:Considering that the subject matter is barely a week old with no resolution as of yet(at least none that I've heard of).Reed Spacer said:Is this still a thing?
