I'm gonna admit, that looks pretty good.

Mostly for how the battle seems to be handled.
combining cover-based shooting with hack-and-slash gameplay into an RPG scenario doesn't sound like it should work, but it looks like it does.

Ugh my first thought was spiky haired kid with a giant sword but... as a major revolutionizing moment, he has only the spiky hair. But. No. Giant. Sword. Its a step in the right direction.
This game does look pretty good, however I am very afraid of how the controls will work with it.

Is this a Square-Nintendo game, like Mario RPG, or is this a Wii exclusive Square game? Sorry, but the wording isn't quite clear.
Sakaguchi doesn't work for Square anymore. So the answer to that question is "No".
Oh...maybe I should do a better job keeping up with developers...

It's a new Nintendo-owned IP with Mistwalker (Sakaguchi's developing team) at the helm.
Really? That sounds great! Glad to see another IP...now, it better make its way to the west...

It looks like a great game, but one that will be cut short by the Wii's limitations (in controls, power, etc.).

Still, I might get it, depending on how it pans out.
That's a bit premature on all aspects except for 'power'. The control on Wii is as perfect as anything done on a controller. Controller games also exist where scheme is poorly implimented. There have been enough great examples of control on Wii already. Perhaps you missed them, or refused to look.
I'm sorry, what was that?

I'm speaking as a gamer whose only console is a Wii. And personally, I don't like the way swordplay is usually done on the console.
Oh, my telepathy's not working at the moment. I didn't get all that from your original post. All I saw was something innacurate and applicable to any situation in the right context. But yes, the Wii is technically limited in respect to what the HD consoles or PC can acheive, but in terms of control, the limitations lie with the developers. The controls are capable of incredible accuracy and usability. I have several games that show that. And when were either of us talking about swordplay? There's none in Last Story either. Regardless, E3 '10 floor reports state consistantly that the swordplay for the new Zelda is top notch. Red Steel 2 wasn't really using 1:1 translation to on screen moves, but it was accurate and never did the wrong thing. Anyway, like I said, for control, the limitation is with the developers, not the hardware. Beyond that, all control schemes have their own specific hard limits.

This looks surprisingly good...
of course, the North American version will undoubtedly be voiced by those same acting-school rejects who make my ears bleed every time I watch JRPG cutscenes, but it looks worth playing anyway.

I find this promising considering Sakaguchi was the one who said "I can't make a good action RPG, but damn if I can't tell a good story"

Can't wait for Nomura and Kitase to finally get sick of Wada and go Join him at Mist Walker.

Ooh, that looks really good. That means there'll more ignorant JRPG hate to ignore, but whatever. That looks really awesome. Now to search for a subbed version...

Well this does look interesting. It will be nice to see how that Team combat stuff works out, with the shooting a guy with a crossbow and then just rushing in. Wait was that team combat? I hope it was. Yes it DOES have big huge monsters from a different realm of existance. Yes it has the boys who sound like women and women who sound like men (Maybe), but if they could just pull of a rpg like that Right. It would be interesting it this works. Personally, I would like to shoot a guy with a crossbow either in the crotch or the head. I'll have to coin flip that for my first go if I ever get it. Anyways, it did look like they took the Assassin creed way of bumping into people but there is one thing in that trailer that I saw that bugged me and it was the person running into a women and all it did was just make her move only a little. not even a smack to the pavement(Which would really be hillarious in a game like this), if I was to get that and run past, grazing people as I go. That stacks up in the annoyance for me catagory. But all I can say is, I hope it works and its fun, cause thats all that matters....and the price.

And as for the Xenoblade trailer that guy has on here. I'm just gonna say this, I need to see more.
