Huzzah, bolter rounds explode, as they were meant to. Also the art direction is damn near flawless. I'm curious how the game will actually feel when you sit down and play it of course, but it's 40K - you'd have to mess things up pretty horribly for me to consider the end result a waste of my time.

On the chance of catching Flak, I would like an extra campaign (DLC me if you must, THQ!) for another part in the Blood Ravens story. Yeah, they're only in there because DoW needed a new Chapter. But still, I like them. Would be amazingly interesting to have another campaign as Grey Knights, facing horrors from the Warp not even regular Space Marines should fight alone. So much they can do with this basis. Hope they don't keep it to the Ultramarines, although I can see why they'd chose them, use this game to introduce people to the entire W40K world.

I hope there careful with those execution cinematics I really wouldn't like it to end up like splatterhouse where Im watching the same ones over and over again. Also *gasp* Imperial guard.

Yeah, I hope there's some variation.

And YES! Explosive-tipped bolts! :D

Only thing I want to know is if they implemented the unreliability of plasma weapons in the 40k universe. Remember kids don't roll ones!

Doesn't look like there's a lot of weight behind it. Looks more like wading through paper dolls than orks.
I'll keep an eye on it though. Loved DoW.
Wait until a greater demon comes striding in.

Well... I hope there'll be greater daemons anyway. Otherwise yeah, I think you're right. Its still fun to wade through meaty chunks of what used to be the enemy.

I'm still holding out for a horror/survival game as a guardsman on a world beleagured by tyranids or being raided by Dark Eldar. Those two races have the best horror potential, I recon.
Perhaps you get sent in to weed out a strange cult... oh fuck, tis genestealers! Your psycher tries to send a message for help, but the growing shadow in the warp burns his mind out and he goes insane. You hide in a bunker as the invasion mounts, but the bunker gets torn open by raveners and from then on you are free to roam as you please, trying to find a means to get of the planet and waiting for help to arrive. Things escalate from desperate one on ones with lictors and escaping from small roving packs of stealers or gaunts, to full on brutal combat with tides of critters.
I think it would be great fun. Big sandbox map, with lots of different ways to get off the planet, perhaps with different endings depending on how many of your team make it off with you.

....Thats pretty cool....

I hope they have a lot of DLC for this game (as I seemingly understand very little of Warhammer universe)

Looks like it will be a good time tho

The combat looked generic, like from a B grade game. Looks like a cheap hack and slash with a few guns.

Just to make sure of something...Did anyone notice the fact that the video was ''approved for ALL audiences'' lol? And I'm adimit that I don't know pretty much everything about the series, but shouldn't the game value strategy or stealth sometimes? But maybe I'm just wrong...

Space Mahrenes are really not known for stealth. At all. In lore they way about a tonne, can survive pretty much anything and chew through small critters like papier mache, so this seems about right tbh.

Want.

Looks awesome. The comments about flowing between ranged and melee reminds me of Fable 2 because that was really awesome to switch between melee ranged and magic mid-fight. But that only had one button each and I would be disappointed if this turned out that way.
Looks like it might just be a spectacle fighter though.

Okay now I am really curious about the battle system. Is it one dude, the 4 dudes we were told originally and it swaps for missions or do you just swap between them since it appears they are all hanging around at once.
You play the squad commander, the other 3 are NPCs.

I will not sleep for days when this one comes out.

There seems very little actual context and or content.

Smash this ork, smash that ork. Fine, great, we all love smashing Orks. Orks are there to be smashed, and the more smashing i get to do, the better. And I know this was a combat trailer, but it seems to lack.. well.. anything else? No respite, perhaps, but fighting wave after wave of the same enemy, with the only variation being in weaponry, hardly seems enthralling..

The more I see, the more I want it. Looking very polished and the developers seem to have a real interest which usually means they will want to have pride in the final product. This can only mean one thing - A good well rounded game!
As a fan of the Dawn of War series I cannot wait for this.

ok relic, you have me confused
one the one hand it looks like you finally understand how a bolter works(semi-auto, almost no recoil and whatever gets hit EXPLODES) on the other hand that thing was NOT a lascannon, lasconnons are so heavy space marines need to have them integrated into their armor to use effectively, and the energy cell is good for one shot only.
oh and please let me recolor my armor and pretend i am a marine of a much cooler chapter.
