Time to bring some life back!

I could also probably chuck in another dream sequence as I meditate upon my offering to the Skymirror.

--

Fimbul was a slight Svirfneblin, even by his race's tall standards (small as they were). Because of this, and because of his heritage, Fimbul had a hard time of being a bard, to be certain. People would often walk past without even so much as a second glance as he strummed out "Ode to Sausages" or "Trollslottet". It wasn't because he was a bad player at all, no sir! It was just that he was invisible, of course. Silly you!

It didn't end with the lute, though. Fimbul could use any instrument. He'd be a pretty bad bard if he didn't, really. He picked up his lyre. It was time to tell an old epic handed down through his family for generations.

No petty gems
With golden stems:
The crown and castle,
The crownéd castle:

Trollslottet,
of the Dragon King.

The mountains bowed:
Their wills were cowed.
That cosmic dirge
of evil's merge:

Trollslottet,
of the Painted Wing.

Upon that waste,
Glaciers make haste.
'Tis the Requiem Mass
of frosted glass:

Trollslottet,
where the harpies sing.

But still, they walked right past. Nobody liked to hear his stories. He might as well stop there.

"Bah, whash better'n more mates for me barhahs, ehy?" Several groans, soundng enthusiastic for the undead replied in agreement. As the throng shambled on, laden with booze and plunder, the gates of Luskan appeared over the horizon. "Sssh...I fink der's somfin goin' on up 'ere. Gimme s'time to go takes a look."

Galt leapt off his platform and scampered through the bushes, machete in hand. As he came to the edge of the town, he found a knight standing over the bodies of several zombies. So dat's where yin's ended up at, told y'all runnin' away wouldn't do ya no good. Galt immediately took off for Gremlin and the group.

After several minutes of frantic running, Galt leapt up onto his litter. "No dice mate! Ol' Bign'Shiny don't look to keen on havin' our bizness. We better hitch the Barhahs out here an' try sneakin' into town."

Before Gremlin could protest, Galt had run through the crowd with his Hitchin' Rope and herded the ghouls out onto the coastline. He found a rock of decent size and after securing the rope to it, he rolled it into the sea. The booze was cleverly hidden between the cliffs and a small sign reading "NOT LIK'R" was erected over it. Galt turned to face the zombies looking out from under the water and calmly said, "Nah yous just keep outta trouble, I'll be back in a day er so for ya."

Koga finally rode up behind Swift, who seemed to be in a conversation with another man. He waited patiently, ready to rejoin with his former comrade.

Despite his deep sleep from the night before, Ishtul was still accustomed to waking before the sun rose, and this new day was no exception.

Slowly opening his eyes, the Hunter quickly notices that the storm from the night before had passed. Inhaling deeply, he grins as the wet grass fills his nostrils with its pleasing scent. With it, however, comes another, more peculiar smell: that of cooked meat. Unless a passing deer had been struck by lightning, that could only mean one thing: travelers! Smelling the air once more, Ishtul manages to pick up the faint odor of mead as well. Definitely people.

The wondrous smells of food were making the Hunter's mouth water, the fact that he had not eaten since almost a day before not escaping him. Rolling onto his side, Ishtul accidently bumps his broken elbow against the rock wall, sending a fresh wave of pain shooting up his arm. Quickly jumping to his feet, nursing his arm, he manages to stretch his leg too far, opening up the arrow wound, and letting fresh blood spill from it. Cursing his misfortune, he tries to stem the blood flow with the grass he had been using as a pillow just minutes earlier. Passing out from bloodloss would not be a boon at the moment. Tearing a strip from his linen shirt, Ishtul managed to bind the wound closed for the moment. While it would not last long, it would have to do until he managed to procure some real bandages.

Stepping out of his shelter, the Hunter raised his nose to the air, hoping to find the direction of his new prey. Oddly, the smell of food seemed to be coming from behind him. Knowing there was no food in his cave, he scans the cliff face closely. There! A few dozen yards up the hill to his side, he spots a few horses among the trees. Knowing their owners must be close by, Ishtul heads to them and, sure enough, spots a cave that he must have missed the night before, delirious as he was. Stepping closer to the entrance, he doubts that any of them would be awake at this hour. Coupled with the heavy stench of mead coming from the mouth of the cave, the Hunter knows he won't have to worry about confronting the travelers. He would simply take what he needed and leave them to their slumber.

Slowly creeping into the cave, Ishtul finds that he was correct; the three people inside looked far too out of it to be waking up any time soon. Moving closer to the trio, he begins to scan the cave for where they had left their posessions, when he notices something odd about one of them. While he can't quite place it, one of the travelers looks almost... familiar. His curiosity aroused, the Hunter stealthily steps closer to the man, until he can make out his face in the dark.

Jumping back, and almost letting out an audible gasp, Ishtul finally realizes who this man is. The man from the inn! He had no idea how close his pursuer had been on his tail the night before. Looking to the other two, he recognizes one as the mage the man had been traveling with before, his spear lying on the ground beside him. Not knowing whether this encounter was a blessing or a curse, Ishtul studies the man lying before him. For a moment, he considers just slitting his throat as he slept, preventing the warrior from harrying him any longer. Ishtul quickly sets aside this idea; there was no guarantee that the man's last struggles would not alert his fellows, and in his current condition, there was no way that he could best the three of them in battle. Lamenting his missed opportunity, he decides to settle for taking their food and supplies.

Quickly gathering up all of the meat he could find, Ishtul also notices a bag filled with medical supplies. Perhaps this chance meeting was a blessing after all! Turning to leave, he suddenly remembers that he is without a weapon, which he would be needing should he encounter this fool again. The wound on his leg reminding him that his enemy had a bow, the Hunter searches the corners of the cave, quickly finding the man's weapon, as well as a quiver filled with arrows. Smiling at his discovery, he silently sneaks out of the cave.

Hoping to slow his pursuers, Ishtul makes one last stop: the area where the travelers' horses had been stabled. Pulling a knife from one of the bags he had found in the cave, he methodically began slashing the beasts' throats. Pausing at the last horse, he hesitates. While killing the animal would be helpful, he reasoned that he needed speed more than he needed another corpse, and sheathed the knife. Saddling the horse, he mounted it, and took one last look at the cave where his followers continued to sleep, blissfully unaware of what awaited them in the morning. Hoping he would actually be able to put some distance between them this time, Ishtul slapped his horse's flanks, shouted a quick "Hah!", and rode off down the trail, just as the first rays of sunlight began peeking out over the horizon.

OOC: It appears our GM was banned for a week...words seem to fail me.

In the morning, after much celebration, Koga asked Swift to explain the party's future plans.

No idea, although I guess it means I won't be hunting him for a while. I suppose we'll all just keep going on our own until he gets back.

Not sure what I'm going to do with Luskan. Since it already exists, I'm not sure if I should start describing things there with no prior knowledge of what the place is like or not.

OOC: Sucks that GEMS was banned for a week. Anybody have any idea why?
OOC: He started a thread that got locked after only a few replys. I'm not clear as to why he was banned though, I don't think he said anything offensive or bad.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even with the chance of making more allies in Luskan, Koga felt a deep sadness. His mount, Snowflower, had been stolen by the low-life bandit. Much of Koga's supplies and scrolls were lost, as well. Luckily, he still held onto his enchanted spear...and a very powerful scroll, who's existance Koga did not share even with his comrades Swift and Killion.

When they got to Luskan, he would have to buy many weapons, armor, scrolls, and other necessities.

Seeing the smile on Swift's face, however, brightened his mood, if only slightly. Soon, a true adventure would began. One where friends and allies would have journies of such grand proportion that their stories would be passed down generation to generation, to become legend. Koga's frown turned into a slight smile, and he and his two friends finally saw Luskan loom into view.

OOC: I'm really terrible at imagery and storytelling in general, so I don't think I could be of much use. Maybe we could do a few side-quests, or build up the story behind Trollslottet?

OOC: Ya, I think I'm going to have to do the same thing, unless Kogarian or Easykill want to do it all for me. BTW Rabid, I really enjoyed Ishtul's last bit. You're really good at this stuff, no?
OOC:
I try ^^

Anyway, I doubt we could do any story behind Trollslottet, since I'm pretty sure Gems made the place up. Maybe I'll look into D&D some, and try to find a description of this town. Then maybe I can try not to start making up inns and such where none exist. It might reveal some extra stuff that could provide questing material as well, since we have to do 'something' 'till Gems gets unbanned.

Well, that 'is' pretty helpful! Guess I'll stay on for a while then and "explore" the town. Now all we need is a good reason to abandon Trollslottet for a while for some good old fashioned questing.

He liked having a horse for once, Ishtul quickly decided, as he was soon speeding across the landscape, leaving the cave with his pursuers far behind. He carried on for a few hours, pushing the horse to its limit, before finally deciding that he had put enough distance between himself and his enemies to take a short rest.

Clambering awkwardly off the horse, he tied it to a nearby tree (proving incredibly difficult with only one good arm), making sure the horse had enough slack to reach a nearby patch of grass. Patting the weary animal on the nose, Ishtul walked to a tree and sat down with his back against it. He pulled out the bags that he had stolen from the fools following him and started rummaging through them, identifying his spoils.

First out were the medical supplies, sorely needed, as his broken arm was starting to go numb, and the makeshift bandage on his leg had fallen off with all of the hard riding. Quickly wrapping real bandgages around the wound, he managed to secure it as best as he could with one hand. Next up was the arm. Examining it closely, it looked in pretty bad shape. The skin above the break was being pushed up by the bone beneath it, and the entire area had turned an angry purple hue. The bone would need to be set before any healing could be done. Placing the roll of bandages between his teeth, Ishtul laid his broken arm on the ground, holding it in place with his leg. Grabbing his forearm with his good hand, the Hunter braced himself for a few moments before wrenching it upwards, forcing the bone back into place with a sickening crunch. Ishtul clenched his teeth as he waited for the pain to pass, nearly biting the bandages in two. Once the worst was over, and he could concentrate once again, he quickly placed a splint on his arm, and tied it in place. That should do him until he could make it to town, where he could hopefully find a real doctor.

With his injuries now taken care of, Ishtul grabbed some meat out of the pack. Though it was cold, he hadn't eaten in over a day, and wolfed it down hungrily. Most of his needs now satisfied, the Hunter wished he could take a quick nap, but couldn't risk it, seeing as his pursuers would have all the more reason to follow him now.

Wearily getting to his feet once more, Ishtul headed over to his new horse, who was happily grazing. Replacing the saddle and repacking his bags, he untied the beast and mounted up. Issuing a quick kick to his steed, he resumed his journey to Luskan, who's gate he could just begin to see coming over the horizon.

...

Standing once again in Luskan, Ishtul quickly remebered why he loved the city so. With so many thieves, pirates, and cutthroats, the Hunter felt right at home. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a pickpocket working his trade. Always interested in observing an amatuer try his hand, Ishtul sidled up against a building wall to watch the fun. It was quickly apparent that the man was truly a rookie. The "accidental" bumping of an old lady, helping her up with one hand, whilst rummaging through her purse with the other. The man had no class at all. The worst part was that, as he walked away from the scene, he had the nerve to look proud of himself! As if he had just pulled off a major heist! It was time to show this wanna-be how it was done. Quickly merging into the crowd, Ishtul made steady progress towards the thief, who was busy dropping his haul into the pockets of his tattered pants. After finishing the storing of his loot, the man started to walk off, not noticing Ishtul passing behind him. It would be a few hours later, as the thief made it home, before he would discover his pockets to be mysteriously, and completely, empty. Walking off, Ishtul grimaced. While he had seemed overjoyed before, the man had only acquired a few gold pieces from the old woman. Looking down at the meager supply of gold in his hand, he wondered if he should have just let the man have his prize. "Well," he thought to himself, "at least it'll get me a night at the inn".

Heading to the city's local inn, Ishtul's coin turned out to be just enough to buy a room for the night. Thanking the innkeeper for his hospitality, he headed up to his temporary home and began removing his gear. With all of the bags put away and the door securely locked, Ishtul began undressing. Taking off his shirt, he noticed that his arm was mending nicely; the swelling had gone down, and it wasn't causing him constant pain anymore. Unfortunately, he knew it would take quite a while for it to heal completely. He estimated it would likely be about a week before he would be back to normal. Considering he had lost the wolf's trail, and his Master hadn't given him any real timeline to follow, Ishtul didn't feel like his week here would be better spent elsewhere. Besides, he knew where the wolf was headed, and could really follow him at any time he chose. For now, however, it would be rest and relaxation for a while. While a week was a long time to do nothing, he was sure he'd find some way to keep busy here. With this comforting thought in mind, Ishtul settled down for the first full night's sleep he had gotten in a long time, feeling perfectly safe.

Templar returned his sword to its scabbard and looked down at Fire and the Captain's men.
"Ah your back, wonderful. Anyway I have been commissioned to find a local bandit and some....."
He trailed of as he placed his cross bow in the strange pouch and pulled out a large blood red gem, he threw it to Jenkins.
"That should cover the horse". But this wasn't enough for the Captain.

"Hold on you, are under arrest". The triumph Jenkins had felt was replaced by a sense of dread as the metal covered knight stared him down.

"By whose order"?
"The king".
"Well my orders are that of a god, so I trump you".
"You committed hearsay"!
"Oh the guy who just made the sun rise at 18 bloody hours is unholy"!
"You stole my horse"!
"I paid you"!
"That's not the point"!
"STAND DOWN"!

As Templar boomed his words Jenkins was backed away stumbling on his feet and falling in the dirt. Templar drew his sword and leveled it with Jenkins's throat. The blade did not glow.
"Your are good, if misguided and stupid, now go, before I take my right to single combat".

His men shuffling away from him and the threat was enough to make up Jenkins mind,
"I'll go sir knight".
Templar rested the sword on his shoulder, but still held it ready to block if needed.
"Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it was a question"

As the captain his men, turned yet again, the mounted paladin placed the flat of his sword on Fire's shoulder, of guard he was unable to move out of reach without a beheading. The blade did not shine as it had for the zombies, but neither was it silent. A faint light came from within the core of the holy weapon, just enough to see the base of Fire's neck. In one swift movement he was of his horse, his bright green eyes locking onto Fire.

"What's going on in this place? You have thirty seconds, go."

OCC: poor GEMS, but lets not talk about it here. Fire if your guy is evil then say the sword lights up, unless you have some spell or some other thing.
You know what I mean.

Fire snapped to his sense as he saw the guard walk away in retreat.
"30 seconds, what? Oh yes well I've been following three men who are travelling north. They appear to be going to trollslottet but so far have yet to get to Luskan (this is out of sync). We need to unite if we expect to take on trollslottet."

"If you agree to come with me and find these other 3 then make haste. I know that they are going to luskan. Hopefully we can meet them there".

OOC- Sorry, I won't always be able to post regularly, so feel free to control my character whenever you see fit, that goes for everyone. Just don't make me do anything really really stupid.

Killion saw Swift being attacked, and tried to get to him, but by overwhelming coincidence, I'd been trying on a very realistic zombie mask, and was soon completely surrounded by guards. "No, wait I'm human!" Killion shouted as the first guard slashed at him, but the guards were in a battle frenzy and didn't notice. Most of them were injured, and not very well trained to start with, so I killed them all, knowing this would haunt me later.
But I was too late, Swift was down, and being dragged away. That... Made me angry. I charged the pirates, axe in hand, cutting three down in swift succesion with pure berserker rage before the others worked up a defence. I slashed at one of a pirate, but he dodged, and lashed out at my leg as he did so. I pulled back, but the tip of the cutlass still made a cut at least 5 centimeters deep. I quickly performed my favorite battle spell, Destabilization, where I jab someone with my hand to draw the heat from their body, killing them, and then jab someone else and forcing the heat into him, killing them. It was very effective, but if you didn't hit someone else shortly after the first hit, your hand would melt off. It wasn't very popular.
But this time, the pirates were surprised by me suddenly dropping my axe, and I hit both targets. The main advantage to fighting like a demon was that it inspires fear into your enemies, and only one pirate remained in my path, seemingly their leader. I picked up a cutlass and charged. Neither of us got anywhere for a while, but after some sparring it became clear that although he'd inflicted several minor wounds, he did not have the endurance to beat me, and he ran away.
I quickly ran back to Swift, Adrenaline fading. When he didn't wake after shaking him, I picked him up and limped away. We both needed medical attention, but with all the fighting, I didn't know where to go for it. I could only hope to get lucky... Where in the hells is Koga anyways!?!

Templar smiled and slid his sword away.
"Luskan you say? Wonderful I need to arrest a man in that city, goes by the name of Alten. Anyway he did some things in along the sword coast, killing robbing and the like. So I need to bring him in and if you help me I'll help you."

After this lengthy and speedy exposition he motioned to his horse.

"Sorry for the whole deadly weapon on your neck bit, my blood was up."
The knight motioned to his horse.
"Well lead the way, I'll walk."

OCC: Ok so now my guy will follow Fire, unless he doesnt want my guy to and makes him go away or the such.

OOC- I was thinking my fight was just on the outskirts of the real battle, I wouldn't have thought Jenkins was even around my fight, but do what you want. Oh, and feel free to wake up.

Edit- Ok, I admit it, I didn't really read the monster post, I thought it was guards vs. zombies. I'll edit that.

OOC: Sorry, this was the first time I could get on tonight. I have too much work to do tonight and tomorrow. Feel free to control my character, nothing too extreme. Have fun, and hopefully I'll be on tomorrow night.

Great job from what I've seen so far. Keep up the good work!
