Apparently there is a fair amount of Americans claiming that the Tsunami currently ravaging Japan can be seen as payback for an attack in WW2.
I'm sorry but the word in bold kinda points why they acted in this way. Their history for one is taught badly. I believe I read somewhere that their history says they won WW2 all by their lonesome. Plus I'm sure some of them would continulously deny that they ever dropped any nukes on Japan. And I can't really see how some people can be so... I don't know what word I can use to describe this... insulting? cruel? heartless? all of the above? to Japan at this moment in time. Especially since they were at peace and alot of the stuff they get is from Japan.

Morons.
Believe it or not, I heard this yesterday in a teacher's lounge at the middle school (grades 6-8) that I was observing at. One of the teachers was talking to a group at lunch-break and mentioned that one of her 11 year old students said (paraphrased by her): Japan did this to themselves, obviously - to get sympathy because the sympathy they got from bombing themselves had dried up. I relayed this to a friend later in the day and his cavalier response - "Someone's parents are working hard " pretty much latched the box my faith in humanity has been sealed away in.

I hate hearing things like that, because I know people think like that. Even in this day and age. One of the most advance nations on the planet is borderline crippled, and some people think God did that. Are you serious?! Payback for Pearl Harbor, that's the dumbest thing ever that's what the two Nuclear attacks were. Statements like that just blow me away, even though a part of me isn't surprised.

If that is someones logic; for every bad thing a nation dose, a natural disaster will punish the wrong doing nation, then the US is fucked. Granted America hasn't done too much to piss off the world in the sense of attacking, but this whole nation is based off transgressions against a fellow man.

Those ignorant people can say that their "god" is allowing that, but I'll pray to my God that these people are make it though this. I don't know what version of the bible they've got, but I'm just saying Vengeance isn't what God is for.

I'll just leave this right here... but I feel like I'm forgetting something.

Oh yeah!

But yeah Pearl Harbor was so much worse! They might have missed their intended target, but they sunk some ships and killed some people! Fuckers!

Yeah, I'm not buying it. Those people are full of shit.

Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Utter assholes.
Basically this.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are much, much worse than Perl Harbor ever was.
It makes me sick to know that some people can even think such a thing.

It might be the morning, it might be the disgust, but I have been rendered speechless.
Not that this has really surprised me-- no, but it's just so... inhuman.

What I -do- like about that picture: names are listed.

All these Jackasses are assuming that, for -WHATEVER- reason, the Earth seems to inherently love us more then another nation, which is plain insanity. There, I am no longer, "Speechless."

I'm pretty sure they talk about the bombings in school, it might be something the don't go into that well. It's probably more ignorance the person's part the schools.
Small note on that: I've observed that, since we typically spend up to the entire first half of any US history class's year on the Revolutionary War, founding of America, yadda yadda EVERY SINGLE YEAR without exception... schools usually give WWII 3 weeks; one for D-day, one for the Holocaust, and one for VE and VJ days - giving the dropping of atomic bombs in Japan one sitting of approximately 50 minutes. At least that's been the experience of my academic career - and World History does not even make it past the Industrial Revolution if it focuses on Europe - and if it focuses on "Non Western" countries it rarely even gets that far. It's a sad state of affairs.

Oh, for fuck sake...WW2 was ended for 66 years ago, and some wankees are still mad at the japanese and means that this was good thing? I'm sorry sir, BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE?!
First off you wankees were lucky considering you only had that one attack on U.S. soil during the war and after that you nuked em' twice, and the people that have been killed here are mostly innocent from having anything to do with that attack.

And some pillocks have the balls to say that all gamers are drug addicted rapists while these guys praise this terrible disasters that have harmed so many innocent people for something that happened 66 years ago?

I've heard alot of crazy shit on this site but this must be without doubt the biggest fuckery I've heard during my entire life...

Plus, I know genocide is evil but will these fuckers actually be missed?

Now, while you are correct for a large portion of Americans, we don't learn that we won WWII alone. We don't deny the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In fact, I'm an American and I think that it was a fucking ridiculous overreaction fueled by blind nationalism.

Those people are not only cruel, they're undereducated-
Exactly as you said.

This, in all honesty, is why I hate some Americans.
Not just a little, fucking despise them.
I understand that the majority of our oversea Yank pals are all good, honest, smart, sensible people.
But then you see things like this.
These complete fuck wits saying "That's what you get for starting WW2" and "Take that, krauts!"
I may be mistaken, but Japan didn't start it.
And again, possibly mistaken, but weren't the krauts, that was the Nazi's?

Not all Americans, but some, really are the most stupid, ignorant, fucking soulless bastards to walk the earth.

May be susceptible to mod wrath for this post, but I wan't to get my opinion across, so I'm will to risk it.

All hopes and good wishes to Japan, I know I'll be donating.
This sort of thing just proves that no matter where you are in the world, there will always be idiots. I may be an American, but every time these people open their mouths I wish I wasn't. Patriotism or no, there is absolutely no logical reason why someone should still hold a grudge towards an entire foreign nation once the persons responsible are dead. Saying that modern Japanese citizens are responsible for Pearl Harbor is like saying that every citizen of France was responsible for The Reign Of Terror. The people responsible for Pearl Harbor are long dead, and an entire nation cannot be held responsible for the actions of a few extremist elements. Then again, some people are obviously under the impression that the entire Middle East was responsible for 9/11 so I guess this is just going to keep happening...

Best wishes to anyone involved in the disaster

Japan attacked pearl harbour. lets call that 10 points
America nuked two citied in japan. lets call that 50 points, if not more.

now lets count for a bit
336 megatons in the earthquake,
15 kilotons from the first nuke,
21 kilotons from the second nuke,
and japan probably didn't even make it to 5 kilotons.

conclusion:
Japan owes america a 8.99995 earthquake.
have fun with that, west coast.

edit to avoid confusion: with megatons and kilotons I mean that amount in destructive force (...ton of TNT, or 4.184 gigajoules times the amount)

It's a huge country (third highest population behind China and India) congrats on finding a few people easily swayed into a stupid idea.

I found more then a few on this thread.
