As a person who watched the Pokemon anime as a kid until his (very early) teen years, I agree completely. I actually SAW the episode they ditched BOTH Misty and Brock... and it caused much rage in me.
It sort of gives you the feel of being cheated, having watched all those episodes for nothing. In the sense of "unfufilled romance" Pokemon even ranks above Inuyasha in terms of "WHY WON'T THEY
DO SOMETHING ALREADY!"
Oh, and they tried to ditch Brock twice too, just to be clear. They tried to replace him with some random dude (who was essentially a clone of Brock), and then swapped him out for some kid (who I distinctly remember as being irritating as I'll get out.) Brock won out in the end though, thank god.
