My suggestion is that people should try to reach out and form connections with actual people around them ( doesn't necessarily have to be in person, could also be through messaging systems ), rather than falling into the trap of getting lulled by the comfort of waifu fantasies or the fantasy that the person behind that Twitch stream sees them for anything more than a dollar sign. I'm sure that it's naïve on my part, those kinds of people probably have some sort of deeper reason for clinging to that sort of "entertainment" making it not as easy as it might sound.
The streaming experience has definite advantages for a certain type of viewer i.e. people that spend lots of time online and don't have a large group of friends and acquaintances. For a personal example, my university class (STEM) has roughly 90 women and not one of them plays video games in any significant context (or if they do they aren't telling anyone, and Candy Crush doesn't count). Basically they can't relate to gaming beyond "something boys do in their free time", but on Twitch I can open a girl's gaming stream and interact with them infinitely more even if it was a competition with 50 other chatters. The relationship is a parasocial one -- I get to "know" the streamer while she only reads a chat message every now and then -- but the distance makes things really easy. Animated avatars are even further removed from reality and clearly appeal to maladapting people but it beats whatever they have otherwise.

Hot tub streaming is the dark side. Pathetic simps enable careers that shouldn't exist at all. On the other end we have the teenagers who get accustomed to the idea that booby bounces and butt twirls are just a tip away. Asking for someone's "socials" will get you a free sample and a menu, and I dunno what would incentivize against that apart from a clear shift in western zeitgeist.

guys who are totally alright with sex work and want to legalize prostitution get so up in arms when a woman finds a way to use her looks that doesn't involve actual sex.
First, it's possible that this isn't true at all -- the two groups could be entirely separate. Secondly there is Twitch itself. Camgirls were a thing already and Twitch wasn't for that sort of oogling material until, well, dedicated IRL categories were introduced in 2018, but of course it had crept up there before that. People that wanted Twitch to become more mainstream are disappointed that booby streaming became a feature. I agree that moral panic about it is unnecessary, because it's common sense that social media would be used for this purpose now that monetization options are plentiful.

I'd far prefer finding a teenage son watching a hot tub stream then browsing porn, not least because the hot tub stream is much more parasocial and thus at some level recognizes the woman as an active participator and instigator and not just as a subject to be desired.
Maybe. It's also much easier to tell a teenager that porn is not real (no matter the actual amount of fakeness) than anything about a parasocial streamer--audience relationship if you haven't engaged with it yourself.

If by others you mean tangible humans "near" them that are willing to reciprocate in a relation, then yes.

Life's better if you have people to help you shoulder reality.
I'm curious what your idea is to get men to do this when they are actively, and intentionally in some cases, encouraged not to.

wow wow wow. Hold your horses now.

The animated ones are at least far more clearly defined as this is a fantasy and a person acting. They also don't have the shit like only fans or "private" Snap chats or ways to talk in private with viewers pretending to be having personal conversations with them when in reality having some dude they're paying around minimum wage or a bit more actually answering the stuff.

No-one in their right mind thinks Gura Gwar is a part shark part human girl from atlantis.

No-one in their right mind thinks I think it's Kali is actually an escaped demon from hell in real life.

No-one in their right mind things Project Melody is an android trapped on a futuristic space station.

No-one in their right mind thinks snuffles is a I think half racoon girl IRL.

There's a clear line in the sand drawn by Vtuber stuff that these are characters being played.

Hot tub streaming is only a symptom of the wider problem. It is the logical extension of stuff like Can-Can, Strip Shows and "date"/sex phone lines and is tenuously tied to broader sex work. The main problem is the idea of women's bodies as readily available objects of lust for men and that men should have easy access to venues where they can ogle women. Which is why I find this whole discussion so weird, because the blame falls squarely on the women who profit from the social idea that women's bodies are objects of lust for men and not on the social mores that gives rise to hot tub streaming.

If we want to cut to the core of the problem we need to address social expectations of nudity, sexuality and voyeuristic entertainment. These women have found a way to make money by showing a PG-rated amount of skin and are thus in a better position then glamour models, porn performers and many other people who make their living on satisfying people's desires and lust. If men didn't feel such an intense need to see women in various states of undress this wouldn't be an issue and these women wouldn't have the jobs they do.

As far as social problems go, hot tub streaming is absolutely trivial. I'd far prefer finding a teenage son watching a hot tub stream then browsing porn, not least because the hot tub stream is much more parasocial and thus at some level recognizes the woman as an active participator and instigator and not just as a subject to be desired. What I don't get, honestly, is why guys who are totally alright with sex work and wants to legalize prostitution gets so up in arms when a woman finds a way to use her looks that doesn't involve actual sex.
I don't think people really want that conversation on either side about social stuff because it goes to some weird places and may not go quite where people hope. The short version is it happens on both side but guys are more ready to provide supply of it so there's less way to monetise the supply unless you're Chris Hemsworth or one of the Magic Mike cast.

Also you have to remember PG rated levels of skin used to be full topless at one stage before there was a PG-13 category lol.

Additionally......... you think women don't choose porn? You can argue some turn to it as a last option as such but plenty of women actively choose it. They have as much active participation in that choice as hot tub streamers. I'd argue in most cases they're more honest in what they're selling too by basically going "You pay money you get porn" not "You pay money you get to feel like you have a purpose and by paying are somehow helping to support some-one who might also have an interest in you".

Again I should restate. Some of these hot tub streamers run what are almost romance scams only out in the open more.

Yeah, that's what the demographic wants, because real people -- even streamers -- are too real. The anime aesthetic is chosen for a good reason too. Easy to relate to... for people that have trouble relating to humans.

Or because they really don't like the parasocial aspect of real people pretending to care mostly. I mean I have some respect for Dr Disrespect because dude doesn't so much do the pretending to care stuff even in his character persona if you're being a moron dude will dunk mercilessly on a person even if they are part of his audience lol.

In your example, being dunked on or taking part in the dunking as a bystander is 100% part of the "parasocial aspect" though...

They are doing this voluntarily. There isn't a woman on Twitch who doesn't know exactly what she is doing and who she is exploiting.

And this is exploitation. Flat out.

Your whole statement revolves around the concept that women can't possibly do wrong because men find them attractive. And it doesn't work. There are lots of reasons why legions of boys watch and throw money at these girls, and these girls in return do it because of that money. There is no risk, no responsibility on the streamer to monitor or control who she is taking money from. And that is what is wrong because it's exploitation, and more often than not it's sexual exploitation of underaged kids.

If the situation were reversed and you had a bunch of topless dudes getting millions for hordes of underage girls, people would flip out. But somehow selling sex to underage boys is okay?

These women have found a way to make money by showing a PG-rated amount of skin
The skin is PG, but they are using it as a gateway to their X-rated content via Onlyfans. Don't get it twisted. Amouranth herself has been caught using her twitch sub list to e-mail/DM people directly to her Onlyfans links in which she offers lewd content.

Then there is another question of, if the PG-level of skin is ok, does the R-rated innuendo of the content and discussion make that rating go up? A woman in a bikini is no big deal, but a women in a bikini sucking on a hotdog while gyrating on an inflatable banana is a little on the nose. Do you not think that would perhaps imply a bit more than just what skin she is allowed to show?

Nevertheless, Twitch is to blame for this. They allowed it to grow and these girls are simply capitalizing on a profitable business venture. They'll make enough money to retire by their 30's and you know what? "You go girl!" Make that money!

Yes, it is. As any medium you can point at would illustrate. It's why we have hordes of sexy female pop singers, actresses, anime characters with disproportionately huge boobs, computer games with implausibly hot (and frequently also large breasted) babes.

Teenage boys are rampaging with hormonal lust, and capitalism obliges, everywhere it can. Sure, gotta be a bit careful with hardcore or display of genitals, but a shapely woman in a bikini is gold dust. That's what it is everywhere and anywhere, and Twitch and its obliging girl gamers are no more exploitative than anyone and anything else.

There is a difference between selling kids hot characters in like comic books or whatever. AS stated before, you are allowed to be attractive.

But that material is typically not sexually implicative. And you could use the same turn around to every teenage girl that think's Justin Bieber is the hottest shit on Earth so it goes both ways. But a pop star is not directly selling sex.

So we have to showcase a line between being sexy, and selling sexy.

Encouraged to not interact with women.
Great, just making sure

Their being encouraged to talk to women how they would like to be treated.

If that's offensive for you, i.e. that people won't engage you without being treated how they want, welcome to how the world works

Something something feminism mumble mumble cancel culture. There. I just saved you a lot of time listening to sophistry.
Well more accurately it is that screwing up your courtship with a woman is going to look a lot more humiliating than ever. So instead of going gay or asexual they choose to blame feminism.

And how are men actively encouraged not to interact with and form connections with women?
#Metoo and stuff that's come from that including more and more false claims against people (yes there were some real but so far it's at least equal on false vs real especially after one of the Metoo founders was found to have been paying off a person who when they were a minor and she was 33 she had sex with them and when all this came out tried to then accuse him of raping her at the time.........) ?
