Assassin Creed in Iran in a fictional scenario/alternate timeline where the US/Israel actually does invade with Sarah Palin being the new inheritor of the Golden Apple thingy. That would be 'lulz'. Pardon the stupidity of me post.

Like The Day after Tomorrow? Too bad, the Prince wouldn't be infected by a sand course, he would be infected by tetanus and he would rush to get the cure while being chased by angry zoo wolves and trying to avoid the eye of the strom were he would die burned at 300°C.

Hmmm... I'm not too sure how that would go around working. I mean, I guess we did get a sort of old-ruins bit (well, quite a lot actually) with Warrior Within...

"Hah-ha! Look at me, see my sword, I'm the youthful Persian Lord; hear my song, ain't it crass, I'ma stick my blade right up your--"

*I.E.D.*

...Yeah, I can see why that might be a problem. (Although it is easy to imagine a modern-day prince as a Mirror's Edge stlye freerunner/martial artist.)

These are the kind of unique, incredibly risky ideas that breed classics like BioShock and Zelda: Wind Waker. Good for them, shame it got scrapped.

They gave this shit up for Far Cry? Despicable. I'd love this setting.
Ya Far cry has been dead since the FC people went over and amde Cryisis and FC2+ had nothing to do with mutants....

Bioshock would be a classic if the mechanics were not so dumbed down...

Intriguing. My thoughts went all over the map with this one:

"Modern Prince of Persia? With the gameplay, something along the lines of Assassin's Creed eventually going modern with Desmond?" -->

"Oh I see! Taking the Prince out of his old element and bringing him to a more modern era without anything AC? I wonder..." -->

"Think a bit Day After Tomorrow, but replace the snow with sand and everything. It was really wicked."
"So... basically another post-apocalypse wasteland? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Honestly though, if they did it right it could probably have been very interesting at least.

Doesn't mean they still can't do it. Just because something may not fly at a certain time it doesn't mean it can't be revived later when attitudes are different.

PoP in the present day? How would that even work?
Ever seen Parcour runners at work in an urban environment?
That coupled with time-manipulation and sand monsters could have been rather cool in my opinion.

Good point. I suppose you could have the main character be a decendant of The Prince, and be on the run froma political organisation looking to use the Sands Of Time for their own ends.

Scrapped for Farcry 2? Really?
I couldn't have put it better myself. "Farcry 2" is one of the most repetitive, deflating, tired, all-round worst games I've ever played from a supposedly "major" game developer.
