That is a Russian eagle and I have long speculated that the next AC will be set in late 19th early 20th century Russia, seems i was right, also i thought the Byzantine Emperor Alexios IV may be involved due to subject 16 markings after AC1 when they went to Italy i dismissed the idea but when i see that Constantinople may feature in the next one i am sure in will be set around the early 1200's (perfect for Alteir's children) so multiple time periods, excellent just more history to sink my brain into.

My god. The originality overwhelms me.
Why fix what isn't broken? "Originality" kills more franchises than it saves.

Greece, what? Are they going to find some elaborate way to combine a toga with a hood? Are we going to have an increasingly obscure yet elaborate reason for Ezio "Bluto" Auditore da Firenze to climb a ladder up the side of the nearest sorority house and fall down ladder and all like in Animal House?

Why pay for the ability to play the same game a year latter with new skins?

I still cling to a hope of a french revolution assassins creed. Honestly, one of the things I liked between assassins creed 1 and 2 was the new characters it made the game feel fresh and new. We meet another assassin and get to know him etc. I feel bringing ezio and altair will just make the game feel stale and boring. Also I feel like we are getting stuck in a time period and area. Lets move away from the 11-15th century Mediterranean. I know France 18th century isn't entirely fresh but I mean there are so many possibilities. BRING ON A NEW ASSASSIN IN A NEW TIME AND PLACE!

Hmm...a double headed eagle with a dagger in one talon and the apple in the other...

Do you think they're going to find a way to fit both Altaiir and Ezio into it?

another more or less medieval city/ies another white hooded assassin! What will they come up with next? cut out the cutscenes and sell them separately for a more cinematic viewing pleasure?
i have a feeling that by the time the series hits some fresh ground(ancient china/medieval Japan/Victorian england/futuristic not New York) i just wont care anymore. The milking ubisoft does is destroying the franchise. Couldn't they just finish desmonds story and maybe let us explore someone else's past?

Unless they use this game to overhaul gameplay to accommodate cities without centuries of random growth or even a more rural setting. Climbing along buildings is fine but this would be the 4th game to do exactly the same...

Ok, i see your point but part of why originality kills some games is because it tries to appeal to a bigger audience thus alienating the fans that made the series as big as it is. They don't seem to be doing that with AC, and are sticking to their formula. they came up with something really successful and are putting more emphasis on moving the story along rather than revamping the way the game is played. Come on, how many orignal ways can there possibly be to assassinate someone anyway?

The eagle that keeps popping up is without a doubt the state emblem of the Russian empire, it isn't some logo that Ubisoft made up, so the apple and the dagger in the eagle's talons are not in the slightest a hint to Altair or Ezio, but it would be very cool if the new AC took place during the Russian communist revolution.

Anyone else picked up on the eagle that pops up? Looks to me like the Roman standard symbol.
its the Byzantine eagle, which is the eastern part of the Roman Empire after it split and the western part fell in the 4th century.

so looks like AC4 could be set in and around Constantinople (Istanbul)the capital of The Byzantine Empire and possibly go on to after it fell around 1450 so it could also include the Ottoman empire which would be pretty cool
Didn't one of the teasers also have the Hagia Sophia in the background? Guess Constantinople may be important.

OT: Hooray, my favorite series is back again.

The double headed eagle has been used my many other cultures/religions besides Russia. The one depicted in the teaser belongs specifically to the Greek Orthodox Church and Mount Athos, Greece.

The eagle looks like a serbian twin headed one
This one to be exact
Which is the flag of 1346 to 1371 Serbia

EDIT:Just noticed,Serbian Empire had a big part of greece at that time, and the eagle from above post matches the one in the video.Guessing Ottomans and Eastern Romans?

You could move on to a new idea?

I'm not saying it is a bad series (it is in my opinion, though) and people will buy whatever they want with their own money. To me, however, new skins aren't worth $80. If I want to play the next Assassin's Creed, I'll go play the second one again.

The term "white hooded assassin" concerns me. I can see a few ways where that could go VERY wrong.
I laughed, not gonna lie.

OT: I couldn't finish any of the AC games, because they were all so god damn boring!

I'd be really interested in actually using Desmond to kill some people. I mean they took the time to train him and have him sift through the memories of two ancestor assassins. Let's put all that learning to good use!

Ok i'm calling it, as it was hinted at in AC2, Altair in his dying moments decides to give in to the apple to find the secret of eternal life and has lived all the way to this day, maybe he's even high up in the brotherhood, which might explain why he wants to beat the templars to the artifacts since the apple might have awakened a power desire in him much like it did with most of the people that used it for too long
