I feel extremely sorry for those actors. You can hear by their luaghs that they're in pain.
Mr. Croshaw, front and centre please. I think this very much deserves a good going over.John Funk said:Ubisoft Unveils a Sexy Wii Minigame Compilation for Adults
Is the phrase "sexy Wii minigame compilation" making your brain hurt? Just wait until you've seen the trailer.
As a games writer, every so often you come across something that simply defies description - for any number of reasons. It just makes your jaw hang open while the text box on the screen remains blank as words fail you.
This is one of those times.
The trailer you see here is for Ubisoft's We Dare, an adult-oriented minigame compilation for both the Wii and the PlayStation Move (though judging from the game's name it seems likely that it started life as a Wii title). To put it simply, it looks like Ubisoft is trying to make the point that minigames don't have to just be for kids anymore.
I'm going to reiterate: This is not a hoax, and you can stop checking your calendar wondering if April Fools' is a day early. According to the UK rating site PEGI, this is a real thing [http://www.pegi.info/en/index/global_id/505/?searchString=we+dare].
You may feel second-hand embarrassment at this trailer - that this is a real product that people worked on, and that this is a real commercial that some marketing team came up with. This is also what Ubisoft thinks most male gamers look like, apparently. Also note the homoeroticism - both ways! - thrown in at one of the bonus scenes at the end.
At least they're using a Wii condom.

I agree with you, except that I was disturbed by the acting and the laugh track that was obviously added in. If I get the Move (probably) and see this in the game bargain bin (doubtful since they disabled the youtube of it in the US), I might pick it up just to have a good laugh with a significant other.Tom Terryn said:My lord the prudishness is strong in this thread. All those poor innocent souls shocked by a bit of sexual innuendo...
Apart from the 12+ rating and the forced acting in the commercial, I can't see anything to be offended by. How is this more offensive than a game of Partnerlink or other "erotic games" that are sold all over Europe? I'm sure some people will buy this and get it out for a bit of "daring" fun once the alcohol kicks in.
Seriously people, accept that gaming isn't just for the hardcore gamers anymore and move on. The Wii has long become a piece of entertainment electronics in the living room.
Your avatar looks just like my face while I was watching that um... monstrosity? Just wondering here but does anyone actually know a word that can describe how abysmal that trailer was?Colonel Alzheimer said:Even stranger than the trailer is the rating: 12+ for "Mild Sexual References".
WHAT THE FUCK.
