thats ridiculous. how many games multiplayers have had you play nazis? cod 4 had you play as people who were basically taliban in all but name. it isnt like they are glorifying the taliban, they are just there so they have someone to play as in mp

see, this is what happens when a tory government seizes power. it'll never fly though, if one or two major retailers do (stupidly) decide not to stock the game, it just means more business for the smaller ones that will. some might say that's actually a good thing.

So its okay to play as Nazi's who millions more lost their lives too, or Americans gunning down hordes of innocent civilians, or Americans gunning down fucking everybody, but not as the Taliban?

I wouldn't ban it, but I still dislike that you can actually play as the Taliban and kill people in the game.

The Taliban aren't really "evil" after all, they are only following their beliefs...but still...
And we are in their country for no real reason other than America wanted to flex their muscles and we got dragged along.

I've pre-ordered Medal of Honor but I'm not honestly bothered about actually owning it. I've got Bad Company 2 multiplayer and its vietnam update to keep me glued for the next few months.

I like how all the critism has come all at once about playing as the Taliban. Why didn't everyone complain during the BETA for God's sake?! DICE could have then done something somewhat non-canon to the storyline and changed the Taliban to another terrorist group sert after the Afgan campaign finished or something. (I mean they did for the first Bad Company's multiplayer, as that's set after the US/Russia war when they're just fighting for gold)

No big deal, a friend of mine tried the beta, the game is crap anyway.
Really I thought it was just gonna be Modern Warfare, I mean Haze, I mean Battlefield, I mean Killzone...

Okay, I'll agree to a low blow on saying its similar to Haze, but I certainly wasn't holding my breath for this game's release.

Soooo, he's saying it's a disrespect to the members of the war when someone makes a game, not designed in any way to be a statement on war, or a message or even a depiction of current events. Yet it isn't disrepectful to troops when we entered a war for very shaky reasons, failed to support them and when they have to have members of the public get the money for them when they come back injured (Help For Heroes) because the government won't do crap for them.

Ha-ha-ha, hypocrisy.

"Sad to see him respond in such a manner"

Are you kidding its an on going conflict, this game is offensive while I don't agree with any form of censorship it is offensive and his sentiments are certainly justified.

If he can't actually ban the game, retailers aren't going to NOT stock it. The MoH series is long standing and rakes it in.

As I said on the other thread, it's funny that the only British person to openly criticise the game was a bloke named Fox.

I also think EA's reply of "Even Kids play cops and robbers. Someone has to play the robbers" was a fair point.

It's ok when the British soldiers kill the Talibans after all I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE they don't have their own wives and children. And I'm also 100% CERTAIN that British soldiers have never, ever harmed an innocent person or tortured POVs. God save the Queen !!

This is exactly what they wanted, a good cheap amount of free publicity. Even the way they announced the level felt like controversy bait.

I'm hoping you squeezed as hard as possible.
Daniel Kawcynski is Shropshire's MP. We held a protest against moving our college, he stopped it to join in and win over some voters by talking for half an hour...

Nothing sweeter than two hundred lefties shouting "Fuck off, Kawcynski" in the middle of town.

At the hands of soldiers in general, children have lost fathers, wives have lost husbands, mothers have lost sons and daughters.

So, what now? Ban every single war game? Fuck off Liam Fox. Just fuck right off.
