Ok your right the british army does not recruit 12 year olds. I never said it did. I said 'kids'. Thats any one under 18, and for what its worth the british army DOES recruit 16 and 17 year olds. Theres also the cadets and junior TA which starts the recruitment process at a much younger age.bagodix said:The British military does not recruit twelve year olds, and their efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan have nothing to do with "empire building."bigolbear said:Chances are tho it will be viewed by people under 18 and the last damn thing we need is more kids throwing away their lives or sanity for our marvelous empire building habits.
Ahaaa ninja'd! We also don't have that colour camo, and digital style camo hasn't been introduced yetdekkarax said:Those are US soldiers in the pic, the stripes are upside down

HAHA Reminded me of the last scene of Hair. HE WASN'T READY!CantFaketheFunk said:One presumes that the military will be offering up additional training for those gamers who enlist, unless they've really bought into the idea that games can actually teach people how to shoot a gun.

bigolbear said:yea, and helping the US secure dominance over the middle-east oil market, the way Cheney wanted. right on the nose pal. don't mind bagodix, he's taking the narrow+shallow path on topics todaybagodix said:As regards empire building - why exactly do you think were in afganistan, and iraq. What about the troops in somalia they've hardly been mentioned for ages. Part of the function of our armed forces is to protect our interests abroad - those interests tend to be financial and centered around resources and aquiring bussiness for british companies.

We are already caught up in a useless war and if the government cannot find enough people willing to be killed for no apparent reason they should take the hint.
People don't want to die.
Well, most people don't.
OT : I think its a good idea as alot of these people will not know where their lives are going and if they join the military they can feel a good sense of purpose in British society
Secondly, the people who carried out the attacks were British, and probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for our prior involvement with America in the war.
oh, and you tell me, what are we achieving?
