Ratchet and Clank & Jak and Daxter are both greatest hits games. They sell really, really well. Not quite obscure.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, now that's a gem.

There's this crappy little game called Starshot: Space Circus Fever I remember playing on the N64. It had a fantastic and quirky premise, but the controls were utter shit (like most 3D platformers at that time) and the game suffered for it. Luckily enough, history seems to have forgotten about it. Rest in peace you uncontrollable bastard.

I actually saw that one at my videostore a long time ago

I have some adventure puzzle game called the mystery of louxor and one named the crystal key and two pac-man rip off

While not exactly that obscure I recall the Commander Keen game

Amazing Island for the gamecube. You made your own monsters and used them in mario party style minigames to try to accomplish things.

I remember Space Crusade on the Amiga, and Rocket: Robot on Wheels on the N64, which absolutely no one I am aware of knows exist, despite them being brilliant.

RTS/SIMcity
Not exactly obscure, through the early 00's both Pharaoh and the Caesar series were RTS/City Sim staple games, in fact I have Pharaoh and Caeser 3 right here, in front of me

How about this one:

A cross between a card game and a fighting game, to give a rough description. The art direction is solid, and gives a good depiction of underground post-apocalyptia. The story is filler, but collecting the skills and playing both online and offline is rewarding. I was pleasantly surprised to see it in the backwards compatibility list for the 360.

It was fairly obscure, and there are still some people playing it. Very fun game, and there were hints at a spiritual sequel, but Majesco went bankrupt I believe.
I've got this game in a box somewhere collecting dust.

I'd say Odium (aka Gorky 17)

FROM WIKI: The player commands a small group of NATO soldiers who must reveal the mystery behind the sudden appearance of hybrid creatures in a small Polish city named Lubin. The city is being terrorized, the area is surrounded by NATO troops and media from all over the world, and the first group sent into the city disappears without a trace. The main hero of the story is the 40-year old soldier Cole Sullivan, a commando team member with extensive scientific knowledge. His team's task is to explain the hybrids' presence and to find the missing members of Group One.

Think turn-based survival horror. I only had the demo but I loved it. The last part was hard as hell back then.

The PS1 game Spider, in which you controlled a spider. That was so awesome at the time, but I get the feeling if I played it again today it would just fall apart in my hands.

Also Operation: WOLF (NES), Nightmare Creatures (PS1) and Halo 2 (Xbox).

I'm probably not the only one that knows of this game but I'm sure only about 10 people know of it.
Make that 11. I know of it but never got to play it. D:

Released on the original Xbox, and developed in the UK of all places.
The UK? there are plenty of games developed in the UK.

Anything by Lionhead Studios (Fable, B&W, etc.)
Stronghold series (Firefly has offices in two places in the UK and one in the US, so it seems that they'd do at least some development here)
Creative assembly (Total war series) are based in Sussex, UK.

The first SMT game released in the US to actually get an SMT title. Think Pokemon but with demons and Lucifer as a recruitable party member.

Nocturne, Persona, and such get lots of attention. DemiKids flew under everyone's radar.

Killer 7

you run by pressing one button and you pick where your going by choosing which path you want then running again. All the enemies are invisible and they can only hurt you by getting close to you and exploding. Makes sense that in '05 not alot of people wanted to play that game. But it had an excellent story and if you didnt really care about the fact that it wasnt a FPS you were in for a real treat.

Baroque, the saturn original and the wii/ps2 remake, they were postapocalyptic real time roguelikes, the original was first person and looked like doom, in the wii version you could change it to third persoon if you wanted to, only the wii/ps2 version came to america, it got pretty terible reviews, mainly for having perma-death and having very strange ways of advancing the story
