Perhaps this has been done before, but I couldn't find it.
The Build Up: I hate watching most horror/survival movies. Why? Because, nine times out of ten the "bad guy" is human and the "good guys" would rather run or hide then make any effort to defend themselves in anyway shape or form. I though Vacancy was going to be different the first time I watched it when the main characters walked past a wooden broom and a mallet in favor of breaking a mirror to use a piece of glass as a knife. Against attackers that seemed to be fairly skilled at fighting with knives. Seriously?
My Point: What regular household object (including reasonable tools) would you feel comfortable using as an improvised weapon if the need arose. Explain your choice.
Note: Feel free to discuss feeling regarding horror/survival movies as well. Except for zombies. We've all read and replied to plenty of those threads, so the only time I want to see that italicized word is if someone is quoting me.
