Underrated Cartoons.

So many it's not fair to list just some of them.

Definitely Mission Hill. I remember being constantly amazed at how clever and funny the writing was. Now that I think about it, I miss that show...

It brings me so much joy to know that other people liked that show.

Definitely these. Mission Hill was a clever, unique show that breathed 90's methodologies and threw it all together with an appealing art style and likable cast of characters. 'Tis will be missed.

Spoiler: And just for old time's sake...

Mission Hill by far. It, along with King of the Hill, are two of the only cartoons that ever felt "real" to me... The characters felt human and relatable, and the characterization of a good sitcom without the obnoxious laugh track always felt like the best combination to me. Of course, the cartoon medium allowed them to do things that couldn't be done in a standard sitcom as well, and the distinct style of the show will always stick with me.

Whenever I see someone smoking, I imagine the little dotted lines floating past...

Oh! I'm not certain this is under-rated or not, but I hear pretty much nothing about it: Archer. First and foremost, H Jon Benjamin is always a top-notch voice addition to a show, but add to that Jessica Walters reprising, with great success, her overbearing mother role from Arrested Development, and you are already on top - Add to that the fact that the rest of the cast seems to fall right into place with voice acting and each other, and there's a sardonic wit not seen since Dr. Venture's self-deprecating narcissism and you have what I consider one of the best cartoons on TV now.

Everybody i know loves Batman:TAS, but me personally; i always related to this:


But i've always managed to find people that love it too...basically anybody that bothered to watch it....(that was th'big problem, few did)....

but for truly UNDERRATED (again, my opinion), i'd go with.....



i mean, you had movie tie-ins (MCD reprises the role of Kingpin), celebrity cameos (Rob Zombie as the Lizard, and not my cup of tea but they had Eve play a new villian), and f*cking Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Spidey! It was great, but it seemed i'm part of a group of like 5 people that loved this show, let alone own the dvd....*sigh*

I loved Batman Beyond.
Never saw that particular Spiderman cartoon. Is the whole show CGI like that intro?

I have the entire collection on DVD =P Not a bad series.

Of course for a thread like this I am honor bound to post MEGAS.


Maybe one day Cartoon Network will wake up and bring this back.

Best part about Megas was as a Jersey City native, there actually was a lot of in jokes about areas in the city that few other people would get

HELLS. TO. THE. FUCKING. YEAH. my one complaint about the show is that was a little too... grungy for cartoon network. I always thought it would be best on MTV or maybe adult swim. there it could make as many crude jokes as it wanted.

Although I wasn't a huge fan at the time that it originally aired, Samurai Jack. I started watching it on Boomarang and I like what I've seen so far, its a very unique show. I'm probably gonna start paying attention to whats on Boomrang more now to see if I can pick up any more gems.

I'd like to add "Daria" to the mix. Unlike many cartoons, Daria is dryly humorous, with not the average batch of cliche characters who compliment the cartoon art style. I'd get a video of it but I'm too lazy to look on youtube

Also I loved Exo-squad, The Conan cartoon, the original robotech cartoon, and does anyone else remember how horribly bad-in-a-good-way the old D&D cartoon was?

also they need to continue the batman beyond storyline. it was just fricken cool, and not just batman being portrayed as having legit flaws, but the world in which he inhabited.

oh and before I forget, does anyone remember the "Clone Wars" series that made by the same guy who made Samurai Jack as opposed to being an elongated opening cut scene

Oh my god I love Archer! That is one of my newest favorite shows. But I think that it's kind of cursed to be on FX instead of Fox or Adult Swim, not as many people associate FX with adult cartoons.

The Satan dude was Raven's father and that was towards the end of season 1 or 2 and there was like 2 or 3 seasons after that before the show ended. I think it was cancelled after the final episodes were being made but before they completely finished the series because as far as I can remember it just ended and didn't finish what was happening unless I missed something somewhere.

Personally I loved Teen Titans. Hated Trouble in Tokyo though.

SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. This was a great show in the early to mid 90's and had a pretty damn good run going for it. Until, that is, it was cancelled for being too violent for children! That's the biggest bunch of bullshit man. Here was a show that was different because of the military themes and buddy comedy and it was cancelled for being "too violent". They need to bring this show back.

Portal (The TV series from G4, not the video game). It featured such well-known characters as Sunny Dove, Bloody Dove, and The Drifter!

It was very entertaining.

Most of the cartoons I watch are actually fairly well regarded, just unheard of. I also watch some aforementioned things but I didn't feel like bringing them up.

I would say MTVs "The MAXX" ... that show had a special place in my heart... and in my spine, thanks to all the acid i was doing at the time it was on the air.

I would agree with Batman beyond. I liked that it was just a little darker than TAS... just wish it wouldnt have gummed it up with all the highschool teen junk.

Great show, but it gets no love.

Also, Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
This show deserves mad respect for paying tribute to a period in Batman's history fairweather fans would prefer to gloss over, but nooooo. Every brat who ever saw The Dark Knight bashes it for "not being dark enough" and for being "too kiddy".
