For some reason, I imagined this being announced to a loud stab of jazz saxophone.

Funny that.
You know... me too.

Great! I loved this game! Although I'm a little worried about the iOS thing. Now to finish up that Psi-ops cliffhanger?
Psi-Ops was frickin' great.

I can't wait for XIII. I never knew what the first one was and played it on a whim. The cel-shading was new back then and with the comic book sound effects and mini panels showing enemies dying were a cool touch. I always wondered what happened to the series.

Voiced by a bored-sounding David Duchovny
Let's be fair; I don't think Mr. Duchovny knows how to sound anything BUT bored. Unless he's yelling, in which case he sounds bored and irritated.

Still, I heard a lot of good things about the original despite never getting to play it myself, so I will keep an eye open.

YYYYEESSS!!! Me and a friend were talking about this game just a few days ago, and lamenting the lack of a sequel. Such a complicated and deep game, for the time, anyhow.

Cliff hangers piss me off, XIII, despite how awesome it was, made no exception. I wonder if David Duchovny is coming back.

Ok, sell me on this game. I had the chance to nab it a while back for the original Xbox and past because it was for the original Xbox. Love the art style; unique!

You can try!
You can fly!
You can lose your mind, but I'm still on the run!
I Try to escape,
The Prison in my mind...

This game (XIII)was a favorite of mine for a long time, and man I wanted a sequel. From Robbing a bank, to raiding an Alaskan military complex, and even sneaking through a terrorist base in Mexico... I must have number two!

It's cell shaded AND brown. Oh god. Excuse me while i flashback to Borderlands...

Ok... Episode over. I'll probably be giving this a look. At least it isn't just brown.
The original was a bit brown, I will admit. Then again, it was also on the xbox/gamecube, and the brown was more due to graphical limitations the it was to aesthetic choice. And then there are the blue levels. And the Green levels. And the "villa on the cliffs" level was fairly multicolored...

but please, please PLEASE don't compare this game to borderlands. Yeah, cell-shading. This time, at least, it was cell-shaded for a reason.

I played through it and...I didn't think it was that great to be honest.

The gameplay was solid (when you weren't pushed into the not so well thought out stealth sections that is) but the story telling to me just felt a bit lacking (I'm not gonna go into spoilers for people who are genuinely interested in finding out for themselves, it is a good game, I just thought it had more than a few hiccups keeping it from being great).

It'll be interesting to see how this new game turns out so colour me intrigued.

I wasn't really comparing it to Borderlands, i was just stating my apprehension about the cell-shading, but you're right, this has a reason to be cell-shaded.

Damn the nostalgia rush I remember staying up late at night playing multiplayer with my brother. Oh and the singleplayer was so fun I still have the game for the PS2 and if I had one I would probably play the damn game.

Fantastic! XIII is one of my favourite games ever, if not THE favourite. I've even just started reading the comics out of affection for it. I love random, unexpected-but-brilliant news of this sort. I might just have to buy a games console for this...
Um...it's for PC, IOS, and Mac.

Did you read it right?
I'm going to have to go with 'no, I did not'. I was very tired when I read the post! Either that or I was just so bedazzled by the title of the thread that other information slipped by unseen...

Major Jones'd better not look like a dude this time.

This is Major Jones :

This is a dude in an army jacket :

Learn the difference please.

I prefer my Major Jones to look like a military woman rather than a fanboy-service sex object...so I go for the version in the game, and I also loved Eve's voice acting.

Anyhow, looking at this link:
http://www.incgamers.com/News/29350/follow-up-to-xiii-confirmed-not-coming-to-consoles

Looks like this *isn't* going to be a sequel...but a re-imagining. But I'll still go for it to support the project. I'd be happy to replay a reimagined version of the original if it means I'll eventually get that sequal.

I couldn't find a picture from the original comic book where Jones is in military gear, but my point is, she should look like a woman.

I think Jones in the video game does look like a woman.

If you follow this link, you'll see six little photos of her, in all of them she looks like a woman to me:
